Alright, these are sick
I've heard both incredible and horrible things about these, and while the range or power isn't mind-blowing, this is a great introductory HAM radio for anyone getting into this deep and confusing world of HAM. Great value for money! Has a decent battery life, and works great!

Read not to brick your uv5r
These are amazing. Mine (Uv5r 5watts) came unlocked with all possible frequencies available. The extra long optional antenna is well worth the extra few $. Be very careful with the programing software you MUST set the min max in settings (136-174 / 400-520 MHz) or you will loose transmit (took me a full day to figure that out.). I now have a marine radio backup also by programming the correct frequencies to the channels numbers... Also possible to create a somewhat semiprivate channel (we use that on the hard).

Good radios Amazon is just failing
Great radios I own a bunch. I needed these for a camping trip so I had extras. Like everything you order from Amazon it won’t be at the house on the listed date it will be several days late. Amazon can’t deliver anything in the time frame promised. If you need the items on the listed day just go to the store and buy it.

I purchased them for our families camping trip. They work well and work long range. Came in handy due to the campsite not having a strong wireless signal. Life saver
