Great Purchase for Kayak Fishing
This reel is very nice and compact. I used it yesterday for the first time and so far it’s awesome. Too early to report on durability so that’s the reason for the 3 stars but I’m glad I purchased it. It’s smooth, very easy to cast and handles a wide range of lure weights easily.

Versus Zebco Omega ZO2
Comparing the Zebco Omega ZO2..This is a solid rig. Seems to be able to pull fish in relatively easy. The cast is smooth and long. Holds a lot of line. I switched the line out with 20lb braided Spider Wire and had no trouble with binding. I would say it’s worth the money. The upside to this versus the Zebco is the line capacity. The Zebco Omega has it beat on the retrieval. The product doesn’t retrieve as smooth. Kind of has a plastic feel. Additionally, after the cast there is a large gap between when you start reeling in and the line grabs. That part makes it hard for bass fishing. However, if you’re fishing for brim, crappie or catfish, this would make an excellent reel. It seems pretty durable and hasn’t lost its casting depth in the past month. I would recommend this product as a backup reel, or perhaps a lending reel for friends and family. Overall it is a good quality reel and beets the handle of a bait cast or open face reel.

Great Deal if on Sale
When I purchased this reel it was $20. It then doubled in price so I guess I caught it on sale. I am really impressed with the reel and it is not a cheap plastic one. It is all metal and should last a lifetime. I put 12 pound test monofilament on it and it cast smoothly without any snags or bird-nesting. I feel lucky to have got it for the price I paid and if you catch it on a similar sale it is a definite recommended buy. Even at the regular price it is a good reel if you don’t have time to wait to catch it on sale.

Broken Junk 6 trips
The first couple times I use this I was excited beyond belief. It was so smooth and easy to use. I did notice that the cone was very hard to get back on. The sixth time I used it, I went to cast and the button went right through the back of the Reel housing Because the plastic tabs holding the button on broke off. It is completely unusable. I bought a Trion model that broke in two trips. Pflueger= junk

Could be better
Nice smooth casting, decent reel, or so I thought. The thumb push to cast button broke on my 3rd time using it. Upon inspection, 2 small plastic pins hold it together. Very poor design.

quality but heavy
This seems to be a good quality for the money. But it is heavy, really really heavy. Enough that I would not put this on a kids pole. Because it is a spincaster it is held upright instead of hanging like a spinning reel. I never thought about it before this, but a heavy spinning reel can still fell balanced, while there is just no way for this to feel balanced while your holding it. All that said, the quality seems high and I have had not issues the two times I used this. I will use this on a backup rod in my canoe. It should be fine for that, but not great for all day fishing.
