This smells great and is wonderful combined with lavender in my diffuser. My expectation was low given reviews that the fragrance was weak. I have a cold and am stuffed up - I could smell a wonderful vanilla scent and I am so pleased. . I ordered a different brand to compare and this other vanilla essential oil was pretty bad. It almost seemed off. . I have other NOW oils and I’m going to stick with this brand going forward .

If you have tried to buy vanilla essential oil you likely ended up with an oleoresin, absolute, or CO2 extract. There is actually no such thing as a “pure vanilla essential oil.” One form of vanilla is Vanilla Oleoresin Essential Oil. This “oil” is actually not an oil at all, but a semi-solid resin that is extracted from vanilla beans with the use of a solvent. While it looks like essential oil, vanilla oleoresin does not completely mix with carrier oils as other essential oils do. That means you may have trouble mixing it. Another type of vanilla used in natural skin and body care products is Vanilla Absolute. This is one of the most concentrated forms of vanilla and is also extracted with the use of a solvent. This product is naturally very thick but can be easily blended into natural body products. Vanilla Absolute is very expensive, but only small amounts are needed. Another more expensive form marketed as a vanilla essential oil is Vanilla CO2 Extract. This oil has been extracted from vanilla beans using carbon dioxide under high pressure. However, vanilla CO2 is extremely expensive. It is very thick (sometimes even almost solid!), but it blends well in carrier oils and can be diffused (unlike Vanilla Oleoresin). NOW vanilla oil is from this last category. It smells absolutely heavenly. Even though it’s already mixed with jojoba oil, it’s very potent. I actually add some to a larger bottle of jojoba oil for a vanilla scented all-over body oil. It makes me happy every morning when I put it on :) It’s so yummy!! I’ve been buying NOW vanilla brand for a few years and have never had a bad experience.

I just received my order for this.Vanilla oil mixed with Johoba oil I have been shopping with Now products for over twenty years and this is the first time I've been disappointed!!!! This vanilla scent is barely even close to vanilla you can barely smell it. Horriable ... And of course,more upsetting you can't return it. Is best to save your money and get the more expensive pure vanilla unblended. So Disappoint it!!!!

I always buy "Now" oils. I bought several different brand but I feel like this is the best one so far. I love the smell. Definitely recommend it.

I have had this in my collection for a number of years now and finally used it all. It is a nice, affordable way to have vanilla essential oil in your collection. This is already mixed with a carrier oil. The smell is fragrant but not overpowering. Diffused it was very light. I was also careful about using too much in my diffuser because of the carrier oil mixed it. This would make it heavy to diffuse. Vanilla is a hard one to product in a true essential oil. Your best bet would be to go with a vanilla absolute and even then, it wont be what you expect. Remember ... essential oils are REAL and not fragrance oils which are generally synthetic. I have been using essential oils since before they were more mainstream. Probably a couple decades now. I use them therapeutically and not just because they "smell good". I have major brand name essential oils in my collection and off brands. I have purchased and reviewed some downright vile essential oils here on Amazon and am not afraid to leave a poor review. I appreciate a good quality essential oil for a good value, but I am not going to use something I cannot trust. I would trust this brand and for the price is a good value to add to homemade essential oil blends of your own.

I was really impressed with the way this was packed to begin with, it was slightly large for such a little bottle but once I opened it I saw that’s because they wrapped it in the padded envelope, in that was another bundle of bubble wrap, then in that was another bundle of bubble wrap, wrapped tightly in cardboard and taped up, and in all that was my little bottle of vanilla oil. I’m so impressed by that packaging though, it shows how much they care about getting your product to you safely the first time around, and the product itself, was amazing too, the vanilla smells so sweet, kinda like marshmallows, I’m a big fan, I like to put a drop or 2 on for perfume, and add some of my regular sweet perfume with it. I bought it also to use in my diffuser! Haven’t tried that yet however but I am sure it will be amazing! Love this brand every time, recently ordered 2 bottles of lavender which are a amazing, and a bottle of jasmine which I’m yet to get! I don’t usually write reviews haha but this service and quality impressed me and deserves it!
