From the writer of American Ultra (Max Landis) comes this action-packed, romcom about meeting Mr Right, but then finding out he has a double life. Hyperactive at the best of times, Martha (Anna Kendrick; Pitch Perfect) has gone full-on manic since her latest breakup. She babbles, parties like a monster, cooks everything in sight - and is looking to do something terrible when she meets Francis (Sam Rockwell, Iron Man 2). To anyone else, Francis' approach would come across as creepy, but Martha can't help but be intrigued. They seem a perfect match: she's bananas, he's bananas... except he's a deadly sort of bananas. He's a professional assassin. Francis is a hitman with a cause: he unexpectedly kills the people ordering the hits. Just as Martha begins to realize her new beau wasn't joking when he said he had to step out for a moment to shoot someone, things start heating up for Francis. His services are solicited by a dubious client who's being sought by an equally dubious FBI agent (Tim Roth; Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs). As the bodies pile up, Martha needs to decide whether to flee or join in the mayhem.

Excellent comedy film that escaped me upon original release.
With the always awesome Sam Rockwell and the ever dependable Anna Kendrick in a film about a hitman with morals who wants to retire and I have to ask where was I when this film was released to have missed it so completely?I don't like to ruin films if I can so suffice to say that Anna Kendricks Martha is a bit of a dreamer who has never found the guy to make her happy, Sam Rockwells hitman with a heart character is not looking for love but finds it in Martha, only trouble is there are assassins and drug dealers and fake FBI agents (stand up Tim Roth) all trying to come between them. The inventive and fun interplay between all of these characters and storyline strands is just what film should be about, pure enjoyment with a smile throughout and a hope of the Mr Right ending to a film that seemingly cannot have one, watch and see just why this film is so good for your funny bone.

Anna Kendrick absolutely nails this black comedy role. Great chemistry with leading man.
Anna Kendrick never do another soppy role. You are SO much better than that. This film is action comedy gold. Fun, violent and she cleverly plays a neurodiverse person with aplomb. No big teeth and harmony singing. Quick fire dialogue and fun getting to the ending we all hoped for. Recommend.

I'm not really sure what to make of this movie.
It opens like a traditional rom-com but before it fleshes out the characters in any depth, from out of nowhere there's a disjointed introduction of the antagonists and a tonal shift which is quite jarring, then we briefly flit back to romantic comedy again, before suddenly stepping straight into grindhouse ultra-violence, so I think it's possible that the writer had a more developed world before the editors brought it into the cutting room.I don't hate it... but i'm glad I hired it on one of Amazon's movie night offers, and I'd suggest you wait until a similar deal comes up.

This movie is hilarious
How did it take me this long to realise how amazing Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick are?! I don’t normally like shooty movies unless there’s something odd or quirky - I liked shoot em up. This movie is funny and weird and self aware. And bonus Tim RothAnyway also obsessed with the intro outtro song and now know Rowell does all his own dance moves what a dude!
