Great for Beginners
I just used this for the first time yesterday and I LOVE it. I got the GiGi 14 oz Hard Wax and was considering getting that wax warmer, but I was swayed by the price of this and am so happy I saved money by buying this one instead. It was my very first time ever waxing my legs, let alone the first time ever using it at home. This product is so easy and simple, I knew what I was doing right away. Pros: - Great product for a great price, it's sturdy and everything is securely in place as it should be. You don't need to worry about anything falling a part but I don't recommend dropping anyways. - The handled container is a great feature. You can easily lift up and move your wax if you need to, if you'd rather take it out and pour it, etc. - The red light and clicking noise. Luckily I read the reviews and expected the red light to shut off. I LOVE this because the machine is protecting itself. You don't want this to overheat and become useless, so be patient when you see the light go off. The click is especially helpful as you can listen for when it's coming on or turning off. Don't worry, it's still hot enough that the wax will continue to melt. - The adjustable temp. Keeps the wax at a good consistency. - The lid. It helps keep the heat on the wax, and keeps dust or hair from falling into the pot. No one wants to find cat hair in their wax. - Cleans up really easy. As I said I am a totally first time beginner at waxing, so I did make a mess. I waited for the wax to harden and it came right off of the machine really easily. It didn't pull any of the paint or metal off with it the wax all but fell off. Including the metal container, really easy clean up. - Cord is a good length. Not too long, not too short. Cons: - I think having a cardboard circle to help keep the wax contained when using it would have been nice, but since clean up is so easy this is pretty much a moot point! I'm expecting this machine to last me a good few years and I look forward to it.

Bee keepers: Great for Pre-waxing bee frames!
If you are a beekeeper and you are looking for something to melt bees wax and pre-wax or supplement wax your new bee frames, this product is PERFECT for that. The high end of the dial is exactly just 1-2 degrees above the melting point of bees wax, and it hits that melting point in about 15 minutes. FAST! The instructions advise lowering the dial once you reach the melt point, but don't do that. I needs to stay hot, and since you'll probably have the cover off anyway, lowering the dial just makes the wax start hardening up again. I used with 1-oz bees wax blocks, one at a time, which ended up perfect for one deep frame each (both sides). Subsequent sticks melted in less than 5 minutes. Make sure you order COLLARS to go with this. They are nothing more than cardboard rings. I did not have them, so I made one from scratch using an old piece of cardboard from a paper pad. (Use the insert to measure the inner diameter opening, leave about 1-1/2" around it, then cut the outer ring after.) It really DOES need the collar. The insert/container sits about 1/4" higher and expects it. And it keeps things clean. Clean-up is EASY. No need for anything fancy. With the unit off/unplugged, pour out any leftover wax (I had none), then let it cool for a few seconds only, then use 2 paper towels, one to hold it if it's too hot for you, the other to wipe the insides. Use another paper towel (or switch them) to get the final sweep. After that, simple soap and water and a sponge worked perfectly. Sparkling clean. Size is perfect. Only about 9" diameter. Plug is REALLY short (like 12"), so you'll need an extension cord. Took less than 30 minutes to pre-wax my bee frames. Highly recommended!

Awesome purchase!
Easy to use!!! Clean and not huge so it doesnt take up a huge space on your counter, but big enough to hold a good amount of wax! love that it's pretty fast. wax will melt completely (half a container full) after like 15 min. Read the instructions! Turn to high first, then turn to medium while using. Sometimes itll start to get a little harder but a quick 2 minute heating on high and back down will balance the temperature out. I learned to wax myself a while ago with the Sally Hanses at-home kit. Ouch!!!! Then I got my entire body waxed at a salon for a year (face, underarms, full brazillian) but it was around $200 each month just on this. I invested the time into learning my growth cycle stages, learning techniques, trying different waxes and then I bought this along with some quality waxes and will be doing my waxing at home for myself and girlfriends! Awesome price!!!! I went for the reviews on this purchase, not the price. The price was a huge perk. It's better rated than most super expensive kits, and much cheaper.

Nice Removable Wax Pot but Thermostat is Not Right
So far it seems pretty good. I think the thermostat control knob runs the temp much lower than they intended it to be. I have to turn it up much higher than the instructions suggested to keep it warm enough to use. As long as it still works I'm okay with it. Other than that it seems to keep a steady temp. I think it is well enough made that it might last a while, one can hope at least. I really like the removable metal wax pot for use with loose wax. I've been using Wax Necessities Film Hard Wax Beads - Natural 35.27 oz (1000g) in it. I really like the beads because they are so easy to just grab a tad bit more if you need it. It's also great because it has no perfume or coloring, has good adhesion to the hair and sets up fairly quickly, which saves time. It's so nice that this wax heater comes with the removable wax pot so you can choose your wax in larger quantities and save money.
