This is a great "toy" for both girls and boys. It will keep the kids thinking and exploring their ideas

Added this to our makerspace cart and even the kids in grades 3-8 enjoyed creating their own mazes and codes

OK I love this! Santa left this for my 4 year old. It is wickedly simple in concept and execution. You are coding a mouse to go into different directions. It comes with cards and simple instructions. It was ready to go out of the box even though I got it in September and had Santa leave it on Christmas (it did die after two days, but you just plug it up and it should be good to go for a long time).My only complaint is that I wish I got the bigger version of this kit, and I wish there were a little holder for the cards. It took a minute to get my son to understand to "draw" out his coding with the cards first. He is now coding without the cards and then will run a program and place the cards out in the order he put it in.Honestly, I grew up in the 80's and remember coding a turtle in MSDOS and it infuriated me so much, but with these cards and mouse, it makes it way easier. Even if your child isn't into coding or STEM, this is also great for "cause/effect" or "if/then" in real time.

My daughter asked for this because they are using them in her class, great little coding toy.

The media could not be loaded. This code and go mouse is a wonderful learning tool. The mouse is really cute, and it works well. It is easy to learn how to do. It is fun to put something as the "cheese" and then lay out the arrows for the mouse to get to it from the starting point. Then you program the mouse, pick up the arrows, and let the mouse go to see if you coded it correctly. It is great for kids of all ages because you can increase or decrease the complexity of the maze you make. It comes in a small box, so it would be easy to pack and take places. Overall, a great buy!

This was a really great tool to help my seven-year-old learn coding patterns and how technology can be used to drive progress. The whole kit was easy to set up and my son loved creating different patterns and watching the motions of everything spin and turn and move according to the cards that he was putting in front of the little mouse. It’s a great educational tool for kids of all ages and I love that my son is enjoying activities that are interactive versus digital learning.

This is a lot of fun and is a super cute way to introduce programming and mazes.It does not really turn a full 90 degrees when you have it turn, so that does complicate any compact mazes you'd want to do, but spacious mazes should be okay.For the price of $45 I think this is a bit pricey for what it is and becomes impractical for at home use - however, I see this as a great tool for group learning environments, or rotational learning.If you can afford it, it's definitely fun though.
