Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Elixir Oud, Gourmand, Amber Fragrance - Notes of Saffron - Perfume for Women and Men - 2.5 oz EDP Spray

***This is a review for BOTH Shaghaf Oud and Oud Aswad (gold bottle, black bottle)*** Shaghaf Oud (gold bottle) is a perfect fragrance for women like myself who aren't into the fruity florals constantly being marketed to us. Smooth, rich, warm, and definitely gourmand, this is a beautiful addition to my accumulation of Arabian oud-based perfumes. I can't stop smelling myself when I wear this. The saffron opening and subtle oud in the background add depth and keep you from smelling completely like a bakery, but you WILL smell edible nonetheless. Apparently the sillage and projection aren't bad either, since strangers have walked up to me in stores and complimented me on it. As to longevity, I can wear this all day, jump in the pool for an hour, and still catch whiffs on my skin afterward. For me, Shaghaf Oud is late afternoon sun and warm summer nights. Seductive is its middle name. Fans of amber, tonka bean, and of course oud will enjoy this. Another, similar fragrance is Lattafa's Oud Mood, but I have both because the latter has a delightfully subtle floral opening and the woodiness is more present all the way through the drydown. Also, Oud Mood doesn't last as long and wears a bit more lightly if you're afraid of overwhelming people with the Shaghaf. If you're looking for a more pronounced woodiness though, check out Lattafa's Raghba Wood Intense for all of the gourmand but also lots of smoke, spice, and more pronounced oud. I have all three. For a more oriental, slightly (but not cloyingly) berry note, go for the Shaghaf Oud Aswad (black bottle). That's beautiful as well, a bit like Narciso Rodriguez' original black bottle ("Her") and Jesus del Pozo's now-discontinued In Black. The oud sits in the background of this fragrance as well, and Aswad overall has a much different mood to it. Some may find it a bit heavy, for night, or more for colder weather, but I wear fragrance based on what I'm feeling, not time or season. It is definitely not for the 20's set, as it is way too nuanced to appeal to young noses. The opening is floriental with a bit of fruity undertone- my nose isn't sophisticated enough to pick up on what fruit, exactly. It has the characteristic woodiness that should be there in any perfume that has "oud" in the name. It doesn't last as long as the gold bottle, but the projection is every bit as mighty. When you want to smell like a grown woman but aren't going for the edible, gourmand component, wear the Aswad. I wear the gold bottle more frequently, but when I'm feeling the black bottle, I can't stop smelling myself with that one on either. They are different, but equally worthy, additions to any fan of ouds. No idea how either of these wear on men, I can only speak from my own standpoint. A good fragrance is a good fragrance no matter who wears it, in my opinion.

I love this perfume. As soon as I sprayed it, it reminded me of Jergens almond lotion. For me, it’s a soft marzipan scent. Mostly like a thick almond lotion scent. Dry down has a baby powder scent. It’s not as strong as I imagined. My husband said it smells like a scented kitchen trash bag 😂 Long lasting. Can still smell the next day. Projection is medium & I spray a lot. 9/10.

Its very strong gave it 3 sprays n felt like I was suffocating.. I love it tho for some reason I was expecting more vanilla or more gourmand but I smell a lot of oud I wanted it to be sweeter but its okay

First oud ever and I blind bought, it was a total win. Opens as a bright/strong smoky honey, reminds me of Tiger Balm but in a rich masculine way. Dries down to smooth honey with a tiny vanilla touch. To me it smells expensive, not cheap dupe smelling. Quality blew me away, way above most Lattafa/Armaf stuff I own. Masculine, perfect for cold days or nights out. Projects hard, lasts forever. If you want a safe-ish blind buy from Middle Eastern houses, grab this.

I bought it 4 years ago and decluttered because I was so confused about concept of middle eastern perfume. This is my second time buying it for giving a chance. My taste of perfume changed so much. And as I’m more mature now, I really love this perfume. This is beautiful strong long lasting perfume. I get hint of rose and mostly praline and bakhoor. It’s not giving me dirty vibe like other ME perfumes it’s rather clean side and I also feel like I’m in the temple which I love!

I'm not very versed on perfumes BUT it's my first Oud and the bottle is beautiful the scent is lasting allll day! Justa few sprays on the hot spots and your on your way to feel like a million bucks! Excellent for the fall/winter 🔥 12/12/25 Update! I've been wearing it everyday and it's opening up nicely...i work outside and I spray the hot spots and a little on clothes, DAMMM!!! THIS is giving me an Arua of smoky vanilla with the smokey oud... through the cold Air it slithers through giving pleasant scents of vanilla alllll day wow... Definitely a crowd pleaser!!!

I bought this perfume while in Dubai and loved it so much that I purchased another from Amazon. This one smells sweeter and is not as strong.

This is 2nd bottle! The amount of compliments I have received for this perfume always suprise me. I can never smell it on myself but everyone stops me to all what perfume I'm wearing. It is an oud perfume so if your nose is sensitive then this may not be for you. I will always have this in my perfume collection. It's considered an Oriental fragrance for women and men. Top note is Saffron; middle notes are Agarwood (Oud) and Rose; base notes are Agarwood (Oud), Praline and Vanilla. It's dry down It's powdery & spicey.

Justo como lo dice su descripción las notas son muy atractivas Tiene una fragancia muy intensa, no lo recomiendo a quienes buscan un aroma sutil. Tiene buena duración

Disappointed after spraying it first, due to no lasting power. However, after leaving it to ripe for a couple of weeks, the performance is much better. No beast mode but really good performance and appropriate for any occasion. If you like Elie Saab Le Parfum or Narciso Rodriguez For Her you'll definitely love this one and you can't go wrong for the price. This is not a copy of neither but in the same fragrance range, a bit more fruity and lighter.

Dura muchísimo ese perfume y huele a elegancia pura. Si buscas oler a quilometros y bien, como un hombre elegante y con confianza, de verdad ese el perfume.
