Best light but sturdy brace ever!
So I got this about a month ago and I’ve used it everyday since, I sprained my ankle pretty bad a few months ago and after 2 more resprains from not wearing the big bulky brace long enough I knew I needed something to wear pretty much all the time when I’m awake. This is amazing for chilling at home barefoot and short to medium outings, it can be a little uncomfortable under a shoe for more than 4 hours so I usually use the lace up one I bought for working, but compared to that one this takes about 2 seconds to put on and I can do it one handed. Like I said before I got this one I had rolled my ankle again twice (both while barefoot at home) and this is plenty enough protection to keep it stable, even in flip flops. I wouldn’t use it on a freshly sprained and swollen ankle but if you need something comfortable for the long term look no further!!

Great for tennis!!!!
I have been through multiple sports related injuries to both my knees and ankles. I started playing tennis about 6 months ago and I experiencing horrible ankle pain from tweaking them or rolling them slightly when I planted to move side to side. I decided to try this brace after trying many other off the shelf braces from Ace, McDavid, and ASO with no luck (all were painful to wear for several hours and did not provide enough support). Needless to say, I was reluctant to try a brace that appears to have even more rigidity than the braces I just mentioned; however, I have to say that this is the most comfortable brace I have ever worn. I got them on Saturday and played three sets of tennis with no pain and I just played 4 more sets, two days later on the following Monday, with absolutely no pain from wearing the brace and no pain from playing. The support is absolutely amazing. One thing I will say after reading other negative reviews of this product. It is CRITICAL that you follow the instructions and measure your ankle at the widest point. DO NOT just go by your shoe size. I bought a large because my ankles are 14", but my shoe size says I should have ordered a small. If you measure your ankle and order the correct size, it will fit like a glove.

Does not prevent rolling
I have a long history of inversion ankle rolls and most recently such a roll out on trail run resulted in an avulsion fracture. In researching braces for after my immediate recovery, this brace has excellent reviews and the predominance of folks says this brace is very supportive.I’m still in my Bauerfeind immobilizer during the day, but I do have a softer immobilized to wear at night. While switching out today, I decided to give the pod a fit check. It fits fine, but it offers almost zero support - it is just too flimzy to prevent another roll on the trails. I have a very hard time believing this brace does much of anything, except take up space in my shoe. This will be returned.

The support was nice, but it also made it feel like I ...
For basketball, I was using an ASO brace before. The support was nice, but it also made it feel like I was wearing a boot. It did not provide much flexibility and it definitely affected my ability to run, cut, and jump. I decided to try out the DonJoy pods after reading some reviews. I definitely can tell the difference. It is very easy to put on and remove, and I do not feel like I'm wearing a brace. Definitely can flex my foot much better, but can still feel a great level of support. I highly recommend this brace.

Easy to put on and great for preventing ankle rolls
I've been shopping around for an ankle foot brace and decided to try this because it's so different from the typical ones. Definitely easy to put on, fits easily (I have a relatively skinny ankle measuring 7 3/4 in with foot size mens 9.5), comfortable and fits inside of shoes. I wear it with a compression sock or sleeve underneath for a good fit. Some regular athletic socks seemed too fluffy or didn't quite stay put as well.Does it work? Depends on what you need... the POD brace allows for a flexible range of motion which makes it great to wear easily with your existing shoes if you're prone to rolling and spraining your ankles but otherwise functional and not injured. But it's not literally bracing your ankle if you have weak ankles. It's preventing ankle rolls/sprains because it limits the possible motion of your foot rolling inwards and keeps your foot aligned. I appreciated that there's still some range of motion so that I could wear the brace without my foot atrophying from being overly restricted unnecessarily.I don't have a sprain in this case however. I have posterior tibial tendonitis and just broke an accessory navicular bone (blah chronic injuries), so no this brace is NOT for my PTTD. I've been searching for something that supports the navicular bone where the posterior tibial tendon attaches in the arch closer towards the heel than most plantar fasciitis options support. This brace fortunately covers that spot and is almost rigid. It makes up the the difference between my navicular bone and orange Superfeet orthotic (for when I'm active) so I have rigid, full contact support right at my problem area. I'm also wearing a compression sock/sleeve underneath the brace so this whole franken orthotic situation gives me the most flexibility depending on if I'm just walking around casually or being active. My doctor was so uninterested my chronic, open-ended problem so I hope this review can help somebody out there.

Flexible front to back and sturdy side to side. Fantastic brace.
I bought this ankle brace after rolling my ankle twice (not an extreme sprain). I tried taping and traditional fabric/ velcro braces, but they never felt supportive enough and the fabric brace felt bulky and inflexible. The POD brace is lightweight, fits well in my cleat even with an insole, and is sturdy when bent in the direction of rolling my ankle, but flexible when I run. My only issue occurred during my first and second wears, when the top center of the brace dug into my shin/tendon and was very painful. After that I watched the DonJoy video on how to properly put the brace on and had no further issue. I would recommend wearing a tall sock and putting the brace on from a "take a knee" posture, so that weight is on the foot and the ankle is flexed. During play I occasionally pull up my sock and the back of the brace to make sure the middle of the brace is as close to the bend in the ankle as possible.

Innovative, recommended but not for us
This is one of, if not the most, innovative brace we've tried to date. While its design wasn't optimal for me, it's worth nothing I was recommended this by a couple people who swear by it so perhaps it's worth a shot especially given amazon's excellent policies. First off, the product itself is relatively comfortable and provides support - however, for myself the support wasn't focused on where I wanted it to be. I suppose you won't know until you try it. The relative comfort comes from the fact that while it was comfortable to use on a daily bases, it wasn't so much for actual intensive sports. Again, the ones who recommended this to me was using it for intensive sports so it's not one size fits all apparently. It's also worth noting that while it's slim and lightweight, it does add some physical bulk in which you'll have to account for.
