I waited a couple months to do a review so that I had a good sample size on utilization. We have had a Shark Navigator for many years. It still runs and does a really nice job, but this Stratos is an upgrade in performance. The new Shark also has not clogged up with hair (so far) which was my primary pain point with our old Navigator. The Stratos cord length is about perfect for me, and the pickup on multiple surfaces is terrific. The Stratos weighs a bit more than the old Navigator, but I have no issue with lift away use. I will add that I am a pretty strong man, so the weight may be a concern for some users. The only downside is that it comes packaged with few attachments. My old Navigator came with an entire bag of extra attachments. Unfortunately, the Navigator attachments are not compatible with the Stratos vacuum. I love the Shark products. In my experience, they are better than more expensive machines from others (Dyson).

I have never seen a vacuum cleaner work as well as this one does and that's coming from someone who is usually hard to impress. Running the vacuum for the first time quickly revealed what a piece of junk our old one had become and just how much dirt and dust the old one had missed. After running it in one room and one hallway, I stopped and noticed the collection tank had filled up to nearly half! It's very quiet compared to the old hoover centennial and fairly easy to move around even though it's not self propelled. People in some of the reviews say its noisy - they don't know what noisy is! I found it was super easy to assemble - no screws, no tools needed - just snaps together. The collection tank is easy to empty but was so dirty after the first time using it, I had to clean it out with water and a little detergent and let it dry for a day. It weighs about 1/2 of what our old vacuum weighed which makes it far easier to cart around in a 2 story house.

Best vacuum ever! My last Shark vacuum lasted about 6.5 - 7 years. We have a lot of long hair in my family, so this is a feat. That and two cats. So when it finally gave up the ghost, I got this model and it’s awesome! It’s the updated version of what I had. I love how you can use it as a handheld or an upright. I use the hose all the time, super simple. My rug cleaner guy told me about these vacuums and I’m so grateful. He used them, told us they worked really well and held up better than more expensive brands. He was right!

Overall I really like this vacuum cleaner. I don't understand why there isn't a brush on the skinny crevice attachment. I have always found the brush very helpful. BEWARE: This vacuum cleaner will chew up an electrical cord in the blink of an eye. I don't make the habit of intentionally running over cords and such when I vacuum, but accidents do happen. The vacuum cleaner rollers should automatically stop spinning when this happens, but it doesn't. So, I've learned to be more watchful when using it. Other than that––I'm pleased.
