Jim Dunlop 47PKH3NPS Kirk Hammett Purple Sparkle Jazz III Signature Picks, Set of 6 Pieces

This is a quality pick, it's thick enough for fast picking and the bevelled edges help to move across the strings easier, the raised name, cut out, and signature help to grip it, and the colour and sparkles are just a bonus. The downside is the length of the pick, from the centre of the v-cut-out to the tip of the pick measures 20.5mm, which is about 10mm shorter than most quality picks, and this means less pick to grip and more movement when playing, unless you have a very firm grip. Smaller hands will work better with this pick and Kirk Hammet is proof of that, small hands big sound. This is just a heads-up for people with big hands (me) so don't let it put you off buying and trying this excellent pick, and the cut-out does have a stabilizing effect, it stops it from drifting sideways, unlike a flat pick. Amazing for fast riffs, solos and rock/ metal but not good for every genre of music like country, this is a very small genre type of pick and it helps pull out the sound from those types of genres the best but it sounds blocky if you do full - basic chords

I really like these pics, they feel really natural to hold, and they force you to reveal less of the pick due to their size which helps with smoother playing. Great for lead stuff.

A bit on the smaller side so may take some getting used to, but once I did other picks felt tollster and clunky. The slightly tapered edge helps the pick glide over the string when picking fast, and it’s nice and textured for a good grip. I don’t find the notch particularly useful for pick slides, the edge of a regular Jim dunlop tortex jazz 3 kinda does that better, but the Kirk Hammett pick is still my preferred one st the moment

Bit small to what I'm used to and haven't really persevered with getting used to them but overall good quality

Ordered on a bit of a whim, I am not a great lead player but this pick has great precision and after using it for 20 minutes I felt like I was holding a cardboard box when I switched back for comparison. I’m not sure what the cut gives it but it doesn’t hinder my grip. Absolutely stunning finish with the purple. I am not good enough to get the best out of it yet but in the hands of a decent lead player this will be immense. Maybe one day...

Di pochissimo piu piccolo ad un jazz III normale, ottimo grip e il taglio a forma di V rende il plettro strano al tatto ma con ottima presa e funzionalità, è facile affezionarsi a questo modello perche funziona davvero.

Al ser plumillas tipo Jazz III me adapté muy rápidamente a ellas, aunque aún no entiendo el motivo del corte que tiene. No encuentro una diferencia muy notoria entre esta plumilla y una Jazz III clásica, pero en estética están increíbles y tienen muy buen agarre, así que me gustan bastante.

I never used to be a Jazz 3 guy, in fact I liked having a little bit of flimsyness prior to trying these, but now these are all I use, and my hand moment in speed and accuracy was instantly noticeable. (12 years experience, so results may very). It won’t necessarily give you skills you don’t have, it’s more along the lines of other picks may be limiting what you’re capable of. They are small which may not be for everyone(I can only speak for people with skinny/boney fingers) and if you go back to standard pick sizes, they can feel weird, so you kind of have to go all-in with these or not all-in at all. However, I do recommend. but try not to lose them, they really are quite tiny.
