I bought this to replace my bmw charger which had a plug which could not sit right in my outdoor socket that prevented the waterproof lid closing. I was dubious at other similar charges where overheated plugs were evident. This product had no such reviews (so far). What makes this charger is the app and the connection to your Wi-Fi. You can see the charging and it records how many kWh per charge. There is a useful timer so I can ensure it stops and starts to get my cheap EV Go tariff although when you plug in it starts charging so you just stop the charge and it continues when the cheap rate starts. It also lets you dial down the max amps from 13A if you are a little worried that you plug circuit is not up to it. So far so good, I leave it outside locked in the socket and jut plug in when I need it to get 5 hours cheap rate and around 40 miles of range which suits the mileage I do now.

On the whole this system is pretty good. It was easy to set up and use. The only issues I see is that I regularly have to replug into the car before it will continue charging, especially during a schedule. I have a hybrid so the aim was to keep the charger plugged in to the outside socket and plug in after each journey to charge ready for the next journey. For this use it mainly works but I’ve found that it is more successful to use the car’s charge scheduling rather than the charger’s.

Bought this whilst awaiting a permanent installation. It is excellent and will be a great back up for when we are away as it can be easily plugged into a three pin socket. I even plugged it in via my caravan. Very easy to use and a fraction of the cost of other units.

This cable and unit is well built and it being type 2 connector it is the standard for the UK. it has the safety approval stamps for the UK and I have no reason to believe this has not been tested or approved for safety.The version I got was a 6 metre cable which is more than I need in my home.It’s easy to use, you just need to plug it into a standard wall socket and you can get up to 3.3kW per hour of juice. Thats about triple what an air con on full blast would draw, and 3.3kW is the maximum safe amount you can pull from a standard wall socket. The app is basic but works, you can use it to dial down or up the amperage, which is useful if you have other electrics pulling from the same line to ensure you don’t go over 13 amps and blow the fuse.I’m not a huge fan of over complicating life with apps that are purported to make things easier - you can do schedules and delayed charging and all of that, or just set the app to let it start charging as soon as you plug it in. I’m happy with just using the Bluetooth and not connecting it to WiFi for all the so called smart features.If you’re stuck using the mains for charging, as we are since we lived in a terraced house with no garage and can’t installed a dedicated charger, this is a good buy. Quite pleased with it, like the case it comes with too. It’s versatile enough to plug in our kitchen and snake out the window!

Some similar charger suggest that they don't work with the Renault Zoe. This one definitely does.I just plugged it in and away it went charging at a reasonable rate (3kW I think).
