Great tent! Very impressed so far, even in winter!
This is a great tent for the money. We purchased this tent primarily for weekend campouts with the Boy Scouts and as a place where the kids can have their own space when we camp with our RV. We have used this tent 4 times and have had no issues at all. It is a snap to set-up, both individually and with help. We used this during a recent Klondike Derby in Upstate NY where the temperatures were in the single digits (18F) during the day and negative (-3F) overnight. The tent kept my son and I very warm, dry, and happy!Set-up is as easy as putting down the footprint or tarp, spreading out the tent and staking it down, put the 2 poles together and place then in the corner holes, and then snap the tarp to the poles. The tarp slides over easily and clips to the corners in a way that it is difficult to make a mistake. Stake down the guidelines and spread out the tarp and you are done. My son (11 years old) and his friend (10 years old) set this up in less than 10 minutes. Take down is just as easy and takes less than 5 minutes, 2 min if you put it in a bag to hang dry at home. The stakes that are included are durable and did not bend even when going into frozen ground. The tent is comfortable, zippers seem very durable, pockets and a shelf are easy to access and help to keep things organized. The vestibules are spacious and secure from the elements including 20+ MPH winds and rain that we had in our November campout. The vents are unlike other tents that we have used and provide ventilation without keeping the window unzipped. We added a carabiner and two small cords to the inside of the tent to hang a light and add some stability to the "shelf". These have been very helpful in keeping things organized, hanging a small lantern, and keeping my glasses in an easy to reach / find place while we sleep. We also added to small bungee cords to the bag to replace the two straps that were included. The tent is not too bulky or too heavy for my 11 year old son to carry in from the car to the campsite. This is a 2.1 mile hike and he handled it very well with this 5.5 pounds strapped to the bottom of his backpack. This tent and footprint would easily divide equally between 2 or 3 scouts for a longer trek. We put the metal poles and fly into one bag at 2.7 pounds, the tent, stakes, and lines in a second bag at 2.8 pounds, and the footprint and incidentals in a third bag for 1.4 pounds. (I know that doesn't exactly add up, but the storage bags, straps, etc added a bit of weight to each).I recommend this tent and will likely buy the Lynx 2 person for myself while my son(s) and friends use this one on campouts.

HUGE, DURABLE, BACKPACKING STYLE TENT, GREAT VALUE
HUGE TENT — my Golden Retriever (100lbs), boyfriend (6ft large European man), and me (5’4 small Asian woman) use this to car camp and it’s fits all of us and our gear with more than enough room left ... honestly we could have fit 2 more large dogs in there perfectly.DURABLE — forgot to use a foot print/tarp in an area full of sticks and thorns once... nothing poked through. My dogs nails didn’t pierce the bottom. The zipper is easy to manage and doesn’t get stuck.LIGHT WEIGHT — even tho we car camp with this, we like to hike about 15 minutes into the campground so we’re closer to the river. It was definitely light enough to be clipped onto my boyfriends backpack.ASSEMBLES LIKE A BACKPACKING TENT — super easy to put up and take down, even in a hurry.ONLY CON: definitely only use for summer unless you have a REALLY warm sleeping bag for fall and spring. Wouldn’t recommend using for winter.- for one of our camping trips, it was dry but the temperature dropped to 35-40 degrees at night. It was COLD (even with a 40 degree sleeping bag and layers of clothing).*OVERALL: great value!!

Sturdy and spacious
Great car camping tent. Little or no condensation, very easy set-up in 5 minutes, rain fly design looks weather resistant although I have never been in the rain, likely to stand up to some heavy weather. Large vestibule area for shoes and dirty or wet gear. 2 fully opening side entries simplify entry and exit. Good head room. Cavernous for 1 person, spacious for 2, cozy for 3 and tight for 4. Generally well made, but lighter weight is the trade off for durability.Cons: Despite the name, at 9 lbs is too heavy for backpacking unless split by 3 people. Reflective lines or tabs would be a good addition. I packed a wet tent and the fabric may not be entirely colorfast.Pleased with the purchase.

A Definate Best Buy!
I got this tent as a "spare" so we had a tent to loan out to friends who wanted to join us for car camping. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised by this tent. The online specs looked good and it performed very well for us. I'll say right now that this is an -excellent- value for the money especially considering that it features aluminum poles. This tent is also very easy to setup without any surprises. The tent pole clips are much faster and easier to use than pole sleeves. This tent is spacious and provides good ventilation. We did endure a few hours of rain punctuated by a 20 minute torrential downpour. The tent stayed totally dry inside. Quite commendable for a modestly priced tent. Tents from the Big Box stores can have very poor factory seam sealing but the Alps is many orders better. The only con would be the vestibule which could be larger. It also was cut so that it laid rather "flat" reducing the amount of usable space. The room was very adequate for a 6' 3" occupant. Two people were using it and they had plenty of room for themselves and gear. You could sleep four people in this tent but it would be very intimate. I would strongly urge people to get this instead of a two person tent, just for the room. Conclusion - The ALPS Lynx 4 is a well constructed and designed 3-season tent that will perform well and offer no unpleasant surprises. I would highly recommend this as a "first" tent or as a spare/backup tent. It is a very, very, sound value for it's price point.Happy Camping!

Kept us dry in heavy rain and is very easy to setup.
It's just the right size for a small family and is it a good quality tent. We had a thunderstorm on our second night of camping and it poured, but we did not get any water through the fly or floor, now we did have a ground tarp under the tent but that is something we never skip, but even so the tent kept the water out.The zippers worked great and we got no fabric jam in the zipper, even our 2 and half year old was able to open and close the zippers with no trouble. The tent is as easy as they come to put up, I had the tent up in the time it took my wife to walk to the bathroom and back by myself. The guy lines for the fly are nice sturdy ropes and not some cheap thin line, but the tension clip was something I've never seen before and I couldn't figure it out in the whole one minute of trying, went with good old fashioned trusty knots instead of the overly complex weird new clip. The poles and the pegs are aluminum and super lightweight and the poles snap themselves together when straightened out, only issue with the aluminum pegs is they bend when driven into hard ground but what can you do, one of our pegs curled over like a candy cane hahaSeems like a good tent after our first outing and hopefully it stands up to the test of time.

Excelente relación calidad precio
Es una excelente tienda de campaña, ligera, espaciosa y con buenos materiales para acampar en climas templados a fríos. Yo la uso para acampar antes de hacer alta montaña y funciona de maravilla.

Spacious and easy to pitch
This is a nice tent! Pros: easy to set up. Very roomy for a backpacking tent. Kept the rain out. Door zips are amazing! Unzips in single motion.Cons: the pegs that come with it don’t work in rocky ground. You need a ground sheet that is purchased separately. The fabric is very thin—there was one small hole out of the box where the fabric was rubbing against the zipper and another small hole on the trip from a rock. It may be a little too bulky/heavy for backpacking but it can be done.Overall, I am happy with my purchase.
