Just got this for £738. And I have to say it is incredible 10/10. Let's put the rumours straight about the negatives... - Noise of the fan isn't loud. You can't hear it when sound is playing on the screen. Or if you can, it's just a nice quiet hum. - Don't care about the speaker. It's meant to be used with a bluetooth speaker. Which it does perfectly in sync/no delay. - Don't care about no battery. If you want, plug a portable one in yourself and it'll work. - Don't care about lack of carry case. A nice-to-have but glad they didn't as that would have bumped the price up. There are lots of protective cases you could buy if you want one. - Don't care about 500 lumens. 500 lumens is perfect for dark-room viewing like a cinema [FYI: 3-18 lumens per square foot is the recommendation for movie watching, this projector can reach 20 lumens per square foot in the dark so it's perfect. Anymore and it'll strain your eyes. You only want more lumens if you want to watch day-time TV. But I can still watch a football game with a medium light on with this projector]. - Don't care about only one HDMI, I use a bluetooth speaker so use that HDMI for Apple TV 4kK. Flawless. [Update March 2025: I bought two large HomePods. Now I get wireless stereo Dolby Atmos with my LG CineBeam Q. And I can't stop smiling. I also use HomePods during the day for radio and Dolby Atmos music WIN, WIN]. - Remote works great. I don't need to awkwardly point it behind me at the projector for it to work. I point it at the screen. It works. If that is an issue for you buy a £19 LG magic remote, those connect and work on bluetooth. I use the Apple TV remote anyway. Positives... - Insane 4K picture. INSANE. Perfect. Magic. Huge. - TINY (like five CDs stuck together) and very cool form factor. - Has Web OS so very much like a TV OS and it's loaded with streaming apps including Netflix. - Wireless Dolby Atmos with Apple TV and two HomePods Two true negatives... - WebOS doesn't have UK apps like BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4. Hence why I have an Apple TV connected. Apple TV also does a much better job at upscaling all content to crisp 4K. - Remote doesn't allow voice commands (Apple TV does, so all good) One recommended adjustment.. - HDR in 2025 for every TV can be iffy. Often dark scenes can be a touch too dark. This projector like all of them can have that issue. That's not the projector's fault it's the content and its static HDR Tone Map. Dolby Vision may help solve that as that has dynamic Tone Map for each dark/bright scene, but not much content is in Dolby Vision (you also have to pay more to stream in DV). Easy solution with the LG Cinebeam Q is to simply turn off HDR Tone Map if you're finding dark scenes are too dark i.e. The Studio on Apple TV is deliberately lit darkly for a moody old-skool cinema feel. Keep it on for everything else. UPDATE: 1st December (8 months later). - Still in love. Have it permanently set up in the back room. And is used 3-4 times a week. Mainly for appointment-to-view screenings like films and big TV shows, maybe some football. - Ended up tuning off HDR completely. SDR picture is consistently good. HDR wasn't. - Added some photos. One of the room (Cinebeam on a shelf left, wall right), Slow Horses and a Wildlife doc. Picture is 2m wide in these examples. Photos never look as good as the real life. Wish I bought one last year when it came out. But would have cost £1300. So can't complain. My total spend: £1,477 (£738 Cinebeam Q + £140 Apple TV 4K + £599 two large Apple HomePods) Buy one!

Brilliant little projector, lovely design and so compact! 4K image is amazingly sharp with rich colours and excellent black levels (way better than the 1080p projectors i own). Plenty of brightness available from projector (but best in a darkened room). Runs off a 65 watt power bank without issues. I use an Acer usb-c hub with mine to enable use of usb stick to stream films and power the projector with a power bank at the same time. Internal speaker sound is rather thin, but easily solved by pairing with a decent bluetooth speaker. Easily the best projector i've ever owned, love it!

Was in two minds between picking this and the brighter, better audio Dangbei Atom. Why I chose this over seemingly brighter and better spec's projectors? The LG Cinebeam offers pin sharp video thanks to its 4k resolution - and yes this makes a huge difference compared to the 1080p projectors - I did some back to back comparisons with the highly regarded Dengbei Atom which was my second choice here owing the high reviews it had received online. Details like the numerals on a watch a clear and legible whilst on 1080p projectors they are not, and are blurry/ fuzzy. Secondly the colour accuracy and tonality of this unit is amazing and out performs the chinese branded projectors with higher Lumens. In back to back testing, projecting on a matt white wall fromna distance of 2.8 meters, the brighter projectors appeared brighter for the sake of it, washing out highlights, where's the LG Cinebeam Q shows beautifully balanced colour. The aesthetic of the design is lovely, small and light. It looks great sat on the shelf behind my bed. Others units are far more bulky, and frankly fully. Build quality feels strong and sturdy. The fan is not loud at all and not noticeable when the audio is on. The built in OS is quick to use and setup, with all the usual apps. For my testing in 4k I used the Apple TV app. For my use as a bedroom projector the projection is super bright and clear, but like all lifestyle projectors these are not designed to be used in bright conditions, but would work great in a room during the daytime with the curtains or blinds closed. I didn't manage to test this with any gaming platforms so I cannot comment on lag. Negatives: 1. The on board speaker quality mirrors what you'd get on a smartphone- so if you want thumping audio, it's best to connect this to a bluetooth speaker, or headphones if you're watching alone in the evening. 2. The bundled remote is a IR unit so must be pointed to the rear of the projector to work, which is a little puzzling, LG should have placed another IR receiver on the front of the projector. This can be negated by using a LG magic remote or the LG app, so no biggie really. I hope this review helps you make your decision because I really struggled with a bewildering array of online reviews etc. I didn't want a TV in the bedroom, and this unit delivers everything I hoped for.

Overall very pleased with this projector. The picture is excellent but the sound is lacking but luckily can use a bluetooth speaker. The fan is also a little noisy. Not had any issues with the remote (sensor on back but works without pointing directly) Biggest problem for me is that it does not have a zoom function so you need to be wary of placement, however the keystone function is very good and can beam the projector at an angle and still have a flat picture. Only other issue is that it does not have iplayer, itvx etc. Don't know why when it has the normal netflix / prime etc. If you want to use these apps, you will need a firestick or similar. Other than these small issues, this is a great projector.

Amazing projector, the colours are vibrant and picture quality is fantastic, I have a cheap projector I bought about a year ago, and this is so much better, yes you need a Bluetooth speaker but that connected easily, very good price at the moment at £549 I would highly recommend it
