Reading this helped me as a first time mom. Understanding that what I’m doing is ok and that God has chosen me to do this and he is with me

“Gospel Mom” gives a very thorough explanation of the various parts of the Gospel message. This book is more theologically focused on the Gospel itself, and how that overflows into our motherhood. Risen Motherhood (the first book I read from these fantastic authors) is another excellent book on encouragement for moms in light of God’s Word, focusing on daily happenings and applications moreso and weaving the truth of Scripture throughout. These two books are grounded in the same truth, but serve those different purposes for the reader. Gospel Mom also connects the parts of the Gospel message with our everyday need for this truth and how to apply it to our mindset as moms who are trying to honor God with our parenting. I felt as if this book wasn’t just focused on motherhood, but on aligning my heart with God’s priorities and will for my life, and how my mothering overflows from that. I also appreciate the practical applications in the last third of the book for modern Christian motherhood debates and practices, as well as the very practical and biblically sound appendices. I would recommend this book to any mom who struggles with her own worth or value as a believer in Christ, abilities as a mom, or just wants to honor the Lord more as she stewards parenting her children.

Excellent book for everyday life

Fantastic book!

This book has been so encouraging to me and my mom friends. We are actually reading through it together and discussing it as a small group a couple times a month. Plus it is a beautiful cover. Love the reminder that my identity as a mom is not in what I do, but in who I trust, as well as the practical advice the writers offer.

Wow. I wish I read this before even giving birth and earlier postpartum. (I’m 6months) I see Jesus through every paragraph written. First and foremost, it points you to Him. We need nothing else. HE is sufficient. Starts right off the bat talking about how moms like formulas and if we just “xyz” then they’ll be better sleepers or whatever. We are all created uniquely with unique babies & unique family dynamics & talents & insight. While taking Cara babies and babywise and all the things can be great tools this book grounds you in TRUTH. Read it. Like NOW. It then gives practical applications for what that looks like and encouragement for if it sounds overwhelming & reminds us even Jesus didn’t do allll the things. READ IT READ IT READ IT
