I always wanted to try one of these! Works great and is easy to use. The individual contour spines measure in at 1/16” and indent approximately 1 1/8”. This tool is very helpful to shape and trace difficult and irregular surfaces and is really useful for trimcarpentry. This spines move very easy and quickly but still stay in place even without locking them down. This was a great price when I ordered it.

Overall, this is a good contour duplication gauge. The length is larger than others that I have seen (usable length 254mm / 10"). It has a lock so that once you have the contour of interest, you can lock it in. The lock works really well. When engaged, it is almost impossible to disrupt the contour. When I first received it, all the blades were very stiff and did not want to move independently. I think this is because the product is shipped with the lock engaged. (It has to be locked else it will not fit in the box.) I found though, that is a played with it, the blades loosened up a bit and everything started moving easier. So, if you find that everything is stiff when you receive it, work all the blades back and forth until things start moving more smoothly. The depth of measurement is ~30mm. The design and construction is robust.If I had one criticism it is the width of the blades (about 1.5mm) They could be narrower and thus provide greater resolution of the contour that you are trying to duplicate. But, as a practical matter, the blades are thin enough to make the gauge quite useable for most applications.One somewhat humorous note is that the box says to "Read instructions thoroughly before use." But, as is the case with way too many Chinese products these days, there are no instructions included.

This is a nice duplication gauge. Works well as you can see in my picture it does the rounded edge on my counters with no issues. Locks into place well and stays into place for tracing. So far no issues with this tool.

The media could not be loaded. Extremely versatile tool, and very handy for flooring, woodworking, and other uses. Like the fact that the measurements are listed on both the top and bottom of the piece. Also, nice to have the locking mechanism to ensure you don’t accidentally mess up the contour once you’ve completed your measurement.Extremely simple to use. The only minor suggestion I can find is to make the locking switch a little more durable. Even though I started with it unlocked, it very easily moved towards the locking position, making it more difficult to push the contour. It did not go all the way into lock mode, but just moving that direction tightened the push.

The ad says it's a "must have". I'd say it's just handy in certain situations.But the MAIHUITE 10" Contour Duplication Gauge (with adjustable lock) does help to copy shapes. Good for wood work and molding work and such. It's not always that precise, but it is helpful.It came with little instructions but you can basically figure it out.So far it's pretty stiff, I rarely need the lock.It's composed of relatively sturdy plastic. The red parts do bend a good bit. Seems like it will stand up ok.Like I said, not something I'd say is precise, or must have. However, it can be very helpful for contour matching and the like. I've bough worst things to aid my amateur craftsman skills.
