Torque And Power
With 480 Ft. Lbs. of torque, this Lakix impact wrench is capable of most common mechanical tasks one would expect from a battery operated tool. The battery appears to share the same architecture as a Makita battery, though it is 21V VS the standard 18V Makita. When we received the kit, we immediately placed the battery in the charger. Interestingly, the charger LED light shone bright green without a battery inserted. Once the battery was placed in the charger, the LED changed to bright red. Apparently, it was full, so the light quickly cycled to green within a minute. The battery has no power level indicator, but once inserted into the drill, there is a series of buttons at the base of the handle that allow you to choose your operating speed. There is also a battery level indicator. BTW, the clasp that keeps the battery engaged on the wrench also engages when in the charger, so you need to depress the latch to remove it. The kit comes with 5 metric sockets and 3 various length 1/2" extensions. All items are contained in a hard sided plastic carry case that is of better quality than others received with this type of tool. Previous iterations had flimsy plastic latches that were destined to fail within a few open/close cycles. These latches are the metal cam-lock style that are more durable. The interior of the case is a bit short on features. It seems as if the case was purchased off the shelf and not specifically intended for this tool/accessory combo. The raised sections of the case interior are ambiguous in their function. For instance, the battery ships separately, thus it was stashed in the upper corner of the case unsecured. The drill obviously fits in the right side of the case, but loosely. It will store with the battery inserted, but it still is loose. The sockets have no home in the case. If placed in the most fitting corner of the case, they fall into random holes molded into the bottom. Same is true for the charger. It rattles around without a distinct fit in the case. The 3 extensions are destined to float around as there is no space that will secure them. All things considered, it would be best to acquire a small sheet of foam to maintain silence within. The tool was tested on some nuts and bolts and removed them without much effort. Truth told, these were not some old rusty fasteners, so a true test of the wrench is still pending. We have run 18V Makita batteries in these 21V tools before without problems. Just make sure you keep the two different voltage batteries from being charged in the wrong charger. For just under $100, this Lakix impact wrench will serve to speed your disassembly and assembly time on most projects, just make sure to accurately check torque settings with a torque wrench.

Horrible product
Waited 2 weeks for delivery received it looks good, used it once and it wouldn't remove a 85-ft lbs torqed bolt, used it 2 times on the same bolt it got red hot and drained the battery after over heating

Just tried it out
Have only tried it out so far. Seems to be well made and easy to use. It has been sent in its own box which I was very pleased with and a great deal of accessories for use. It is a great item as far as I can tell and definitely worth the cost!
