I bought this as I wanted to kick-start my vegetable seedlings.Building it is straightforward, although the plastic pipes were a tad tight! The lamp height adjustment is basic. You are left feeling that it could, no... should be done better.One 'fault' is it doesn't have a timer. At this price point, many other grow lamps do have a timer. So you have to either manually switch it on/off on a daily basis, or buy yourself a plug-in timer.Either way, for seedlings, you need around 16 hrs under the lamp daily - not 24. Although annoyingly many grow lamps with timers only give you the option of 4/8/12 hours.....On balance I do recommend this lamp..... but others do the job better at a similar price. (But it's design is useful - I have the tripod designs as well which I am no longer keen on....)
