Mr. Heater Store: Mr. Heater Fuel Keg Refillable 1Lb. Propane Cylinder, DOT Certified
Mr. Heater Store: Mr. Heater Fuel Keg Refillable 1Lb. Propane Cylinder, DOT Certified This product is a U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) certified refillable one pound propane cylinder. This propane cylinder is vastly superior to the Coleman-pattern disposable propane cylinders (which really are not designed to be refilled but many people choose to duel with death and refill them). This product may be legally refilled, using the proprietary Mr. Heater Fuel Keg Refill Kit, and then transported in one’s vehicle for use wherever and whenever the user desires. These cylinders are made from quality materials, are designed to last for a very long time, and they have a superior interlock system for ensuring that the cylinders are easily and properly refilled without the possibility of being overfilled. The Mr. Heater Fuel Keg cylinders should be refilled using the proprietary refill adapter (Mr. Heater product F200049; please see ASIN: B0CVR1213L) which interfaces directly with the Fuel Keg propane cylinders and their proprietary interlock system. The use of the proprietary refill adapter is necessary so that the interlocked vent system will be operable to ensure that the Fuel Keg cylinders are fully fueled without the possibility of overfilling the cylinders. Overfilled cylinders are dangerous because they may vent propane gas as the temperature rises which may precipitate a fire or explosion hazard. I like these cylinders very much. They will have a long life due to their quality construction and they will pay for themselves in reduced propane costs. The valve mechanism is very well made and very robust. They are safe to use and safe to refill. There is one other thing to consider. If there is ever a problem with a Mr. Heater product, the Mr. Heater Customer Service operation is always there to make it right. I rate them at 100% because of my previous contacts with their organization. They are really great to deal with.

“The Little Green Power Keg”
The Mr. Heater 1 lb Fuel Keg is one of those simple things that just works every time. Screw it in, fire it up, done. No leaks, no fuss, no weird smells — just steady, reliable fuel. Perfect for portable heaters, camp stoves, or emergency backup. It’s compact, easy to store, and small enough to keep a few on hand without taking over your space. Burn time is solid for the size, and the build quality feels dependable. When it’s cold and you need heat now, this little green cylinder shows up ready. Five stars. Small tank, big comfort. 🔥

Makes refilling 1-lb tansk easy; nice product
Finally, a refillable 1 lb tank that is affordable; not cheap, but worth it. I've been filling 1 ln tanks for years with no issues, but this system seems much safer and easier to use.

Be safe, only use these refillable bottles. The are not that expensive and work like a champ.
These things are great if you have small propane appliances that need these 1 pound propane bottles. When you buy these, be sure to also buy the correct refill kit. Refilling these is a breeze and if you weigh before and after the refill, you get a full 1# of propane added to the bottle with no guess work. I love them and use them on my Mr Heater Little Buddy and they work perfectly.

Yes, They're Pricey but They're Worth It!
These 1LB refillable fuel cylinders are easy to refill and function flawlessly. They also don't leak and are of high quaility. I was a little reluctant to buy them at first due to the price, but they really are top notch. I put them through frequent use and have never experienced a problem with them. Aside from being durable and noticably thicker than the competition, the fuel capacity seems on point. While they're on the expensive side, the value is evident and I feel I didn't just pay for the name, which I appreciate.

Hmm...
This showed up last night. I haven't tried to use it yet but I will in the next day or two in case there are any functional issues with it so I can get it exchanged... But, it doesn't look as nice as I expected either. I'm pretty sure the canister is new but it may have sat on a shelf for a while before being sold. The paint is fairly beat up and surface rust has started around the base ring. The brass valve is tarnished and dirty. The relief valve and ring are both covered in corrosion too. Update: I now have two of these canisters. If they looked like new products I would give them 5 stars. Functionally, they are fantastic. The integrated bleeder valve is perfect. Filling the canisters is amazingly easy. I can even use them to empty "almost" empty 20 and 30 pound cylinders before refilling or exchanging them. So there is no waste in the 20 and 30 pounders. Filling these cylinders when they are partially filled is just as easy as filling them when they are empty. Now that I have two of these cylinders, I've been able to recycle two arm fulls of the single use canisters which helps with space management in an already cramped garage. If they can figure out a way to get these delivered without having tarnished brass, scratched paint and rust, they would be perfect. As a side note: If you use these, buy some of the brass caps with seals. They will insure no leaks, keep debris out of the valve and protect the threads. The plastic caps that come with the canisters are okay but the brass option is more secure.

I bought 5 bottles and the refill kit. On filling the bottles I found that 1 of them was NOT doing what the others had done. The faulty one did not vent. Unfortunately for me it was the first one I tried to fill. So I mucked about checking all the connections. I was quite miffed thinking it was the new style of connection we now have. Anyway I tried another bottle and it vented/hissed, I could hear gas going in and all was well. I mucked around with that first bottle checked the vent as much as I could, made sure the vent hole was open, I could see the vent plunger moving outwards. But no improvement. I could feel that it had taken a small amount of gas. I was thinking that even though it had not vented some gas had been forced in from the larger fill bottle. To confirm this I connected it to a stove and yes it did have some gas. Given all this I wanted to return the bottle and started the process, but of course I even if I let it burn of it's contents through a stove i could not guarantee that it would be devoid of any gas. I spoke with customer service about my concerns of potentially sending a bomb through the mail and they agreed on a one of refund and I was left to get rid of the bottle. Don't let his put you off, the other 4 worked beautifully. They sure do take some gas. I just happened to get a dud in the mix, which has been dealt with. I guess I think on what to do with it. update. I removed the vent assembly and carefully re-connected the bottle to the refill system. I gave it a very small injection of gas to see if in fact it would went out. No luck, whatever is wrong is inside the bottle. I had a half hearted crack at taking the bottle apart. But the brass fitting is very well glued in. I think I'll leave it be.
