AvoDerm Natural Advanced Joint Health Dry Dog Food, Grain Free, Chicken Recipe, 24 lb

Avocados provide such a wonderful healthy nutrition profile! I never thought of seeing a dog food based on avocados. But here it is! My three Havanese love it!My older two dogs grew up on Taste of the Wild, and one has heart problems and the other has had bowel problems. 😣🤬 After I found out about contamination of that product, I am now turning to other products and switching them around every few months so that we avoid problems with any one dog food. This is one of their favorites.

High quality kibble that has really helped with my 2 1/2 yo little girl's skin problems, itching and her sub-luxating patella as well. I've added 3/4 Cup of raw meat/organ meats/organic raw greens and carrot or sweet potato to her regimen in the evening (23# dog), and she is in good shape with this regimen, with less shedding, too. I give her a Cosequin daily as well, but she's much better with the patella since switching to the joint formula. SOOoo expensive, though, but it seems to be helping her a lot.

My dog seems to like this dry food

My 9 year old pitbull/bulldog mix takes cosequin joint supplement daily, but the Avoderm joint health kibble seemed to offer much higher levels of each joint health ingredient vs. The supplement. I thought I could replace the supplement with this kibble but after about 2 weeks (due to transitioning her to this new kibble) she started whimpering when getting up, then got worse where she wouldn't get up to do anything and was refusing treats and food. She couldn't even turn over in bed without whimpering. She's usually high every and will eat anything. I restarted the joint supplement that day and gave her some pain relief medication, 2-3 days later she's fine. For my dog, this joint health kibble didn't give my dog any joint health benefits.

the food is good a little overpriced same price as a prescription dry food for joints withut prescription

I purchased this food for my elderly dog who has hip dysplasia and muscle wasting in her rear legs, in place of Hills J/D, which is prohibitively expensive. She seemed to enjoy it, but within 2-3 days developed diarrhea which would not abate. I gave her a different food and she was fine within a couple of days. This food may work well for your pet but be aware of this possible effect.

We had used Breeders Choice chicjen abd rice for 8 years or more andxouksmd no longer get it this was recommended by the people whk sond us BC but could only get small bags so I fiund it on Amazon and the dog - a black lab - loves it
