Love the product. Never a problem & I wait to refill with a new cartridge way past the refill warning. Absolutely get “genuine ink”. ONE PROBLEM: for the first time, did not get photo paper with order despite same price (or higher). Very disappointed.

I use my printer and this ink mainly for printing out forms, writing letters to friends who don't use computers, and printing out complicated recipes from the internet. So it's a routine assortment of uses. I also print out photographs, on both photographic paper and plain 24-pound white paper.I purchased the "XL" ink for a longer period of time between when I insert the cartridge and the next time to purchase ink. Since this is a new printer, from a company I haven't used (my older printers were made by HP mostly), this is a test of familiarity. The original ink, which came with the printer, lasted fairly well, but it wasn't any longer than the HP printers of the past.There are two problems that I have with inkjet ink:--how it works with the purpose for which I'm using the printer. Will the same ink work well for printing reports as well as printing up photos of my last vacation?--longevity in desert conditions. Our home is located in a very dry place. Some of the HP ink dried up in our home's low humidity conditions, even just after I began using a new cartridge. Will Canon's ink fare better in the desert? I rarely buy ink to store for a later time, opting to buy fresh, wet ink to use immediately.So it's now in the printer, at least the new black cartridge is there, while the color ink awaits its turn to be installed. Here are my observations:Printing reports, letters, and similar uses is great. Both color ink and B/W gave me good results. I inserted photos in the last letter to my computer-resistant friend. The photos came out a bit dark, which is something that I can adjust via the photo editing software. But otherwise, it was a good result, and one I sent to my friend, who was enthused with what he saw and read.I'll keep sending updates about this ink. Stay tuned.
