I recently purchased your M1 Handing Fishing Pole, 2 piece, Medium Heavy. I was extremely dissapointed with the pole. Right out of the box, the pole looked amazing! Looked like it was exceptional quality . I was (initially) extremely pleased, until I used the rod. In the 40 yrs Ive been fishing, this is perhaps the most frustrating pole I have ever used. The two piece design should fit snugly together, so the eyes line up; however, it constantly moved and did not stay in place. Casting was mediocre, at best. I found if you cast the pole sidearm, it cast exceptionally well. If you cast the pole overhand (from the back of your shoulder, straight overhead, towards the water) the line did not go through the guides smoothly. In my opinion, it has to do with the placement of the hook keeper. I think it was getting in the way of the line coming off the pole smoothly. The medium heavy was way too stiff and really hampered casting ability. The medium heavy was more like a heavy rod and not a medium heavy. Due to the stiffness of the rod , the line tended to bounce or "thump" through the guides and created a lot of noise while casting. Casting was not smooth at all. I will say , after 3 hours of trying to figure out the issue with the pole/casting problems, I gave up and returned it to Amazon. Incase you're wondering, I paired it with a brand new C3000HG Shimano Nexave . It was not the reel, as I placed the reel on a Shakespeare medium rod and had no issues. Not really sold on the handing fishing pole. Maybe a one piece would have been better? Maybe a medium would have been better? I'm not sure . I will say, Handing has gone out of their way to help me with this issue. Their customer service is exceptional. Update: After working with a customer service representative, Handing sent me an M1, 1 piece, Medium Rod to see if that would better suit my needs. What a HUGE difference! First of all, the rod came packaged incredibly well. Not only was it shipped in a thick, sturdy cardboard tube but it was bubble wrapped as well. No damage to the carboard tube or rod whatsoever. The Medium power rod made all the difference in the world. Casting was smooth and flawless! There were none of the issues with the 1 piece rod that I experienced with the medium heavy, 2 piece rod. By the way, I used the same exact reel with both poles in order to ensure the most accurate review possible. The bottom line, Handing has definitely under rated the power on their rods. As mentioned, the Medium power rod performs similar to most other brands medium heavy rods. The medium heavy rod, performed like most other brands heavy rods. Handing should reconsider their rating criteria on rod power. For the past few weeks, I have used this rod to fish both fresh and salt water. Fresh water fishing with the medium power , 1 piece rod is great! Caught several Largemouth Bass and Chain Pickerel. It performed exceptionally well. I actually wanted to put the rod through the paces (so to speak) so I fished with this rod in the Ocean, off a Jetty, in Plymouth Massachusetts. The rod easily cast Bucktails, Topwater and Jigs that were over an ounce, even though the rod is "lure rated" for up to 5/8 oz. Again, the medium rod feels to me more like a medium heavy. Handing did a great job with their medium 1 piece spinning rods. Now that I switched from a 2 piece, medium heavy, to a 1 piece Medium, I would definitely recommend purchasing this rod for freshwater or even light, inshore saltwater needs.

For an "on sale" $20 fishing rod I was not expecting much. I was wrong. This may be the best rod I own. Everything claimed in the description is true. All I wanted was a cheap rod to practice and learn to use a bait-caster reel. The action is medium-heavy but the rod is suprisingly thin and light with nine Fuji line guides. I like the extra length of a 7'3" rod for learning to cast. Now I'm going to have to buy a better reel.

Very nice rod, unfortunately it cracked on me the 3rd day of using it. Possibly broken during shipping. Went with an ugly stick to replace it

Hands down the best rod I’ve ever bought. It feels good in your hand, the casting ability is one of the greatest. The size was a little long, but manageable, it was like 7 foot 3 or around there. The performance was great. Although I abuse my rods when I get snagged, so beware you might break it like I did mine. Thank god it’s not too expensive. I bought 5…🤣

What can i say I got the 7 foot spinning reel pole for $19.99 on amazon. This is a special-order hand-crafted pole which normally cost $121 on the Handling website. It feels as good as it looks............
