It does require 2 AA batteries in the outside unit and three AA batteries in the main unit
I have had it for a couple weeks now and it has been working pretty good with no issues so far.

Very accurate.
I’m very happy with this product. It lights up very bright. Seems really accurate. A little hard to program everything, but not the essential things. Priced right.

Works as should , hard to get setup (as my wife said since she did all the programming) I just mounted it and the remote outside 😁
