Is it really accurate??
It seems really great, but I've been to two different doctors offices since buying this and both of the doctor's scales weighed me at 9 lbs higher than this scale... and I calibrated it just like it told me to. It's set on 0. I was really over here thinking I was 10 lbs lighter. :(

Scale wouldn't maintain its "0" calibration
This mechanical/analog scale was purchased as a replacement for an earlier digital scale Amazon purchase. The earlier scale began giving wild and differing readings and so was unusable, but this happened shortly after the return window closed. I recently ordered this mechanical scale as a replacement, thinking that the older design and mechanism would be better and WANTING to like it. Like mechanical scales made fifty years ago or more, this one has a calibration knob on it so that if the scale gets unsettled during shipping or gets moved around at home you can always recalibrate it by resetting the knob to zero on the scale's readout dial again. I duly reset mine to zero, weighed myself, then when I stepped off the scale the readout returned to ANYTHING BUT zero. This happened over and over and the dial keeps returning to numbers on either side of zero within about a 10-15 lb. variance range of zero, where it SHOULD be when you step off the scale. I even bought an oversize mousepad to make sure the scale was sitting flat/evenly to the floor but that didn't change the erratic readings.Bathroom scales have just one necessary job to do: Provide accurate weight measurements consistently. This scale could not provide an accurate weight measurement even once, and I needed it to do so for fairly serious health-related reasons. When I went to my doctor's office this past Monday I asked THEM to weigh me to find out if I had lost weight in recent weeks and the staff member's comment to me was "Don't expect an accurate measurement." WHAT GIVES? Does NO ONE make an affordable bathroom-type scale that measures weight accurately (i.e., to the nearest pound) any more?!? Is there no quality control any more when these devices are manufactured, or are they intended to be scale-shaped decor pieces only?Aspects of this product such as ease of use, readability, size, and ease of cleaning are IRRELEVANT if the unit won't perform its intended function correctly even once. I would rate its 'Value for money' as LESS THAN ZERO because I had to spend tome and gasoline to drive to UPS today to return it for a refund. There are high-end scales costing $4000 but even a BATHROOM scale should function correctly out of the box and last for YEARS for $100 or less. This is RIDICULOUS and I'm very disappointed (all over again, sonce this scale was supposed to be a replacemwnt for another new scale that also doesn't work correctly).

Good scale for the price.
Works ok, not exact to doctor’s office digital ones. You can adjust the readout. Exact pounds a little difficult to see. Readout should be larger.
