Holy mother, this is an insane pigment. Rich, dark, deep blue. It's a perfect match to cyan printer ink when diluted, making it great for CMY color mixing. But undiluted, it can get so dark that it's nearly black. It's also extremely transparent, which is great for making watercolors but a bit annoying for making gouache. With enough chalk and pigment, however, full opacity can be achieved. And don't worry -- no amount of chalk used in paint making seems able to dull the intense color of this pigment. This pigment mixes with gum arabic very easily and hardly needs any mulling. As an iron-based blue, it probably contains cyanide, as that's how blue iron is achieved. Some argue it's not toxic in this form, but I would still be be very careful where you store it, and take precautions when mixing. You should be wearing a face mask and avoiding any action that sends up a plume of powder. Keep kids and pets away while working with it. It may also contains copper, given the intensity of the blue. It leans more towards phthalo blue (copper phthalocyanine) than it does the typical prussian blue (ferric ferrocyanide), imo. Just something to keep in mind if you have a copper sensitivity etc. Overall, it's a great pigment for the price. A little goes a long way, and I'm very excited to use it.

Good color but a little brighter than what I wanted. That's my fault for choosing the wrong tint of blue though. I wanted red white & blue concrete planters as next year is the 250th anniversary of our great nation. When you mix color you gotta mix your concrete first. When color is added at a concrete batch plant they have to figure how much color to use by the hundredth weight. Moisture effects color so if you have two mixes & one has a little more water the color will be different. This came with pretty useless directions but the end product us good. It days something along the lines of use the recommended amount of color for whatever object you are making. It recommends nothing. The more color you use the darker in theory it should be. This was the entire pack. Color is very unforgiving in concrete & will show any imperfections. I used my personel concrete experience to figure how much to add. Mix the concrete until it is mixed well then mix the color in very well. That's my advice. As a side note the second picture with the red (terracotta) white (normal colored) & blue (this product) is added so you can compare quickretes liquid coloring (the terracotta) concrete without color & this product side by side by side so to speak. It's easier to find small batches of powdered color than it is liquid. You can make concrete any color you want. If I wanted super white it would be expensive but you can buy special cement & aggregate that will make it snow white. I hope my review helps because they have a good product they just don't know how to explain how to use it.

Well, if you’re looking for a brown, this is not the color to pick great color though blue is blue. It’s not Agua. It’s not marine. It’s blue.

I used this to make a pebble mosaic with my kids. It colors cement very well. It will also dye your skin, especially cuticles, so wear gloves! However, washed out of clothing very well. After cement has set, I suggest hosing it off, as some dye will remain on top of the cement, coloring whatever it comes in contact with until it is washed away. The photo was taken a week after installation, after hosing it off a few times. I can't tell if it will remain vibrant or fade with time but so far, it seems to perform well.
