I’m kind of a palette junkie and also a huge fan of Kristy so when I saw that she was releasing her own line of empty palettes, I knew I had to get them.When I unboxed the palette, I immediately noticed:* It’s well made and feels of good quality* There is a ring on the bottom for stability if you want to go for a plein air session* The pan tray can be removed for more mixing area or use the space for attaching pans from other boring palettes* She includes 24 empty half pans but if you want, take those and replace with your own full pans (see pic for a visual)* The removable pan tray is finished with rose gold … ROSE GOLD!The extra touches she adds are well thought out:* The painting on the palette cover is her own work* She gives you a QR code on the back of the box for a special prerecorded session with her teaching you how to paint the palette design* On the side of the box, there is a quote especially for artists, from artists. Don’t overlook it!All in all, the value of the tin as well as all the extras she gives, is definitely worth it and is absolutely beautiful.I’ve included some of her brushes in the pictures ... her #6 filbert and 1/8” dagger. I'm a lover of beautiful art, but I'm also a Virgo who loves a good dose of practicality. Look no further than these elegant and functionally designed palettes. I love that the little pans can be removed and moved around at any point, putting less pressure on my analytical mind as to how I should order my paint colors. I also appreciated that feature when I was filling the pans, so I could keep everything nice and tidy. On that topic - I was super appreciative of the easy-to-access tutorial that takes you through the full process of filling your pans, for those new to tube watercolor paints (like me). It also included a lovely tutorial for recreating the botanical design on the tin. Another no-brainer win for me are the mixing zones in the fold-out parts of the palette. I love that there are both large and small divided areas, it's super easy to keep my mixing zones organized this way, which is huge for my brain. Bottom line - every time I pick up my new strawberry palette I get a little zing of creativity just from the look and feel of this adorable little tin. i love these palettes by kristy rice. i have two of her 48 half pan size and wanted another but they are sold out so i settled for the 24 pan. i love the strawberry pattern but i do need the larger size! i'm fast becoming a watercolor addict. these are the best palletes hands down! they don't rust and they are so pretty to look at
