I saw this in store and loved the idea of it. However,it got a couple of red wine drips on it the first time it was used, as you would expect. These quickly got absorbed into the wood. I tried to use a damp cloth to wipe them off, but this led to leaving water marks on the wood, raising the grain and did not get rid of the wine stains. We contacted the manufacturer who confirmed that the wood was not supposed to be sealed.As I loved the idea of the product, I have since sanded down the board to get rid of all the marks and then bought a food safe sealant called Osmo Topoil to put several coats on it to protect it. Fingers crossed it will now look good for a lot longer than it did originally!
