I completed two of these on Christmas vacation in an AirBnB. If you enjoy puzzles, work a lot, or just enjoy solace, this puzzle is for you. I loved having my brain and hands engaged. It helped me to turn work off and relax. I had no tools, but did use a butter knife to help break in a few things that weren't punched all the way through. For the small circles, I used the tip of a pen. Things learned the hard way: The directions were crap like everyone else said lol Instead of them labeling pieces, they labeled where pieces joined together. Once you've assembled a couple of pieces, look at the directions and it will help you figure out the way that the directions are written. I laid all of the pieces out on a coffee table and grouped similar pieces together to begin. When assembling, look at the pictures I've posted to see where things go. Don't bother with the directions at the beginning. I literally taped the picture of the house up on a gingerbread house box and used it as the framework, then opened the Amazon listing to figure out where pieces went that I wasn't sure about. Do NOT lock many of the pieces in place and definitely don't glue anything until you've assembled it all. You'll have to take things apart and reassemble them to add pieces as you go. I assembled things like the lamp post, tops of the towers, stairs, guardrails, etc, and set them off to the side so I knew which pieces I still needed to figure out where they went. Once I knew where they went, there was one piece that I didn't see on any pictures for the Hawaiian Villa. I circled it in a picture. It's mostly hidden, which is surprising because it's a very detailed piece. The Gothic house was not as well fitting as the Hawaiian Villa. I put the Villa together first, thankfully. The Gothic house was more difficult as the pictures show. I definitely preferred the construction of the Villa, but the Gothic one terrible. I ended up sanding down the intersection where the roof piece hit the turret part of the gothic house to close up that gap. The house looks much better now. Keep the "extras" as you punch them out. Luckily, I did this because I'm turning them into gingerbread houses. There was a piece that I thought was an extra initially, but it actually turned out to be a necessary. Use the butter knife to push the cut the rest of the way through for the portions that don't quite get punched out all the way. I didn't have sandpaper, but it would have been nice to have a little bit available for the portions that were connected to the main board. I intend on cutting the locks off and using wood glue with a dab of hot glue to hold everything together and to create a smoother exterior. I want to turn the houses into gingerbread houses to decorate with at Christmas. I'm going to be painting them with snow and stuff. I hope you found this review helpful. It's a great product if you understand what you're getting into.

Hopefully I will have this completed this week. It is a nightmare. No instructions to speak of but with the help of Dave Deng’s video on utube I cobbled it together. The pieces do not go together easily - the tabs have to be trimmed to fit…some of the pieces leave gaps - these can be filled with wood glue. Word of advice paint the pieces before attempting to fit them together. I plan to fill all ridges with wood glue then do the touch up painting but this has been a disaster from the beginning and I have assembled many dollhouses over the years.

One of the best puzzles I've put together in a long time. Despite the lack of instructions, the pieces are well designed to easily connect to the correct piece.

This is as its pictured. This is good quality and it does look amazing once put together. We got this filor a haunted house project but now I want to turn it into a gingerbread house! Its a blank canvas and you can do so much! I am thinking of buying other sets to make a Christmas village! However fair warning, wear gloves because you may get splinters. Things to know: 1. Instructions are horrible. 2. Watch the video as it helps a lot but the video is not in order so watch it a few times before you try it. 3. Be patient!

This house is not a model nor quality doll house. It is a 3D puzzle. The directions for assembly are therefore rather vague. I was looking for some houses to buy (kits that one assembles oneself and decorates) in order to create a Christmas village. This one looked cute and was cheap enough that if I ended up disliking it after assembly I wouldn't feel as if I wasted a lot of money. I did read the reviews, including the negatives ones and for the most part, I agree: This house has problems! 1. The individual pieces have been left in the boards from which they have been cut. Most often, the cuts do not go all the way through to the back of the board. One has to be very careful popping the pieces out for the wood fractures and splinters quite easily. 2. The individual pieces fit poorly at the joints. Yes, some do fit OK, but for the most part the joints are either too tight or have large gaps in them. 3. Sanding and cutting the individual pieces (either to get them out of the boards or to try and achieve a better fitting joint) does not work all that well at times. The surface layers of the pieces tends to flake off leaving the underlayment showing. The surface of some of the boards was rough and bumpy. Be aware that this puzzle takes a good deal of patience and time! I put it together first as a puzzle just to see where the pieces went and how they fit together (oh dear!). I then took it completely apart and began 'renovations': 1. I put in wooden doll house flooring on the ground level. 2. Painted (this wood absorbs paint!!) 3. Wall papered 4. Removed features I didn't like (the overhanding outside trim on the second floor) and substituted some preferred trim. 5. Used trim to cover up the gaps in the joints that were too difficult to fix. 6. Shingled the roof. 7. Added roofing 'ridge vents'. 8. Removed a lot of the ornate doo-dads on the roof that I didn't like. I enjoy crafting and a challenge and believe me when I say this was a challenge! It was fun watching it come together in its newly decorated state, and I believe it is good enough to decorate with a set of micro-lights and use in next year's Christmas village. It's just poor quality and poorly cut. I repeat - lots of patience is needed, and mini tools do help too.

No way to work out what piece fits wear!!!!! NO INSTRUCTIONS TO GUIDE TO CORRECT PIECES. Stamped put any old way without rhyme or reason. After few days I have up after only finding pieces to one bed that fits together. Meanwhile a little girl became sad. NEVER AGAIN.

Wanted a Gothic house for my Halloween house display. I had never built a dollhouse before. Was very nervous. I watched a u tube video to help me get started to put it together. And I turned it into a Halloween 🦇 display. I think the house turned out pretty good.

It doesn't come with instructions so I had to google step by step instructions
