The interaction between Dante and Gianelle

Lord of Temptation (Risande Series)
I give it a 3.5. It was a good book, but was hoping for better for Dante. The first book of hers I read, I thought started slow and the rest of the book was decent, but it did not really grab me. This is my third book of hers. I read Brand's book second and really enjoyed it. However this story like I did not really call to me. It was not a bad book. I think most of my problem was with Gianelle's personality. I cannot really put my finger of how to describe what is wrong with it. At times I just did not like the way she acted. Almost mean and childlike in her revenge pranks. She definitely did not seem like an abused slave. Which usually that sort of thing doesn't really bother me as it is a romance book, and if we made everything like it was supposed to be, then people would be stinky, have bad breath, and the men would probably be a lot hairier, and probably most of them treated women badly. So not romantic at all. But she just rubbed me the wrong way. She was all other the place in personality. I also think Dante came around too fast for a rake, who was never going to marry. Especially with the way she was. That sort of thing doesn't necessarily bother me either, but there were just too many little things wrong, that it did not make it as enjoyable as I would like.Based on my review you probably wonder why I gave it a 3.5. Like I said it was not bad and others may really like it. I did find myself towards the end rushing to finish it just so I could be done with it. The other thing I do not like about her books is the stories last days or maybe a couple of weeks. I really don't care for books where people are just so in love in a couple of days. I like to see things develop over time. Trying to cram all that in a few days is just a little much. You may see someone and think it is love at first site, but you do not really know that until time as passed whether it is love or lust. A couple days is not enough to find that out. I find too many writers now a days, try to cram in too much relationship in only a few days and the book is only about 300 pages. In older days, books were usually over 400 pages and the relationships ranged from months to a year. The story is basically h and h meet at her mean owners place. H takes H away from owner and they develop a quick relationship. Then there is a villain at the end.Sex content medium.

Better than most....
BOOK REVIEW: LORD OF TEMPTATION by Paula Quinn Gianelle and Casey are inseparable friends. They are both slaves in the household of Bryce Dermott and his black-hearted brother, Lord Edgar Dermott. They are Saxon maids in an England under conquest by William the Conqueror. Gianelle (what a wonderful name!) has a copious knowledge of herbs and their effects. She is also a fiery-spirited, independent young lady who coaxes the shy and retiring Casey into a hare-brained scheme to escape their vicious masters. Their escape is foiled by Norman Lord Risande, who has already marked Gianelle as his next conquest, and finds her irresistable. Their childish prank turns into deadly trouble when Bryce Dermott is found dead in his chambers, poisoned by an unknown hand. All suspicion falls upon Gianelle. Lord Risande, hereafter called Dante, steps forward in her behalf and takes her under his protection. He wooes her in lust at first, thinking of her as just another conquest, but he falls under Gianelle's spell and marries her. Edgar Dermott pursues his fair slave and acts as a double agent between William and The Hereford of Wake, the Saxon king fighting against the Norman conquest. He sets an ambush for Dante, injuring him severely, and hastens off to capture Dante's wife, the fair Gianelle. She has no intentions of falling under her enemy's power, and escapes to the cliffs. All of Edgar's misdeeds eventually are exposed, and he pays the price, while Gianelle and Dante are reunited and look forward to a happy life together. This a quite a good formula romance. It has all the elements, the free-spirited heroine, the rippling-muscled hero of iron, true friends and deadly enemies, and a fairly credible plot. Gianelle is captivating, the historical age is an exciting one, and the characters are drawn with skill. Dante might have been a bit too stag-like for the reader's taste at first, but Gianelle tames him nicely. Her friendship with Casey is heart-warming in its innocense and sincerity. The plot is interesting and has enough action to keep the reader engaged.

Very romantic story!
Dante is such a fierce warrior and what a rake. He goes through an amazing amount of women before he meets Gia. Oh the lovely Gia, a servant and virtually enslaved by Bryce Dermott and avoiding his seedy brother Edward. Gia more than anything wants her freedom so when Dante says he is taking her with him she is not happy. She thinks she will be going from one enslavement to another. However she finds Dante's world completely different. Here at his castle she is not a servant but a guest. and of course there are those feelings she is starting to have for Dante. and he cannot believe how strongly he wants Gia. But Dante has never been faithful in his life and Gia knowing this resists him as long as she is able. This is a heartwarming story about a rake that finds love with a beautiful loving woman. Great romantic read!

Loved this series!!!
I loved this book and greatly enjoyed Paula Quinn's story of the Dante and Gianelle Risande. This is the second book in the series and I couldn't put it down in fact kept reading until I finished the book and enjoyed it just as much as the first. The characters are great and their quick fire banter had me smiling the entire time. I highly recommend it. It was a very enjoyable read. As are the other two books in the series featuring the stories of Brande and Brynna Risande and Prince Gareth and Tanon Risande.

lord of temptation Pauline Quinn
A fantastic read a love story which will have you hooked from the beginning. Ioved this book from the horror of lords who would think nothing of rape on a servant to a lord who would save the lowest of servants. King William loyal lords and scoundrels who live to better knight of the realm. With a battle to deny love that was destined in the stars for two lovers to meet and not be denied. If you read this book you'll want more loved it but felt bereft when it was over I would give it 2o stars if I could a must buy and read if you like dashing knight and a tale to warm your heart. 💘
