Gusti Briefcase Leather

I ordered this product through Gusti Leather's test purchase program and was given the bag free of charge, however I was not instructed on how to review the item and my thoughts are my own here. The experience with this program was very enjoyable and I would be glad to do it at anytime again!Initially, I was shocked by the quality of the leather at the price point that this bag is being offered at. It is very stiff at first, but that signals to me that the leather is very thick and durable. It comes with a slightly uneven tone characteristic of aniline dyed leather (which they claim this product is made of). While I am no leather expert, the grain and quality of the leather used is top notch to me, not to mention the awesome smell. The volume of the bag seemed small at first, but it may be because the leather at the bottom of the bag is still stiff and doesn't allow the bag to "accordion" out yet. Over time, it should be easier to widen the bag.The strap is made of the same quality leather as the body of the bag and a heavyweight weaved fabric belt on reverse side. The buckle system is not the two decorative straps that you see in the pictures, rather it is two metal inserts that fit into a metal buckle. They are made of some ferrous alloy and have nice patina. The same metal is used on the adjustable strap and the rings on the briefcase which the strap attaches to. The rivets on the bag seem very sturdy and are placed in good locations.There are plenty of pockets for various things you may need to take with you. The inside of all the pockets are lined with a grey waterproof material which seems very durable and resistant to any daily wear and tear that you can throw at it. The frontmost pocket is separate from the main opening of the bag and can fit 2-3 notebooks and definitely a tablet. The first section of the main compartment has 2 smaller inner pockets and 2 pen holders stitched onto the inner wall of the compartment. The pockets can comfortably fit even the biggest of phones. Bisecting the main compartment is a thin zippered section which can fit a single notebook or a couple of folders. The back section of the main compartment is split again. One section has a velcro strap to secure a laptop or tablet. There should be no issue fitting laptops with a width of up to 16-17 inches (MacBook pro 15 in. fits comfortably with a case). The other section is the largest area of the inner bag and can fit 4-5 notebooks and a small water bottle with no issues. The last pocket is a zippered slit in the back of the bag which can really only be used for very thin items.Overall, the craftsmanship, timeless style, and quality of materials combined with the great design of the bag assure me that this may be the last briefcase I will ever need! However, given my experience with Gusti Leather and this product, I will surely be checking out other products they have to offer.

The leather bag arrived wrapped in a cloth bag, which was a nice touch. I noticed some reviews mentioned that the bag had a strong odor, but the bag I got did not have such an odor except for a slight leather scent. The leather itself is a beautiful auburn color and feels thick and sturdy.Handling the bag, it feels very well-made with attention to detail. The stitching is straight, and the metal hardware feels solid. Although I haven't used the bag yet, the shoulder strap looks and feels great. I've noticed with other bags the strap is often too thin or narrow, leading to discomfort with heavier loads. On this bag, however, the shoulder strap is a long piece of leather also backed with a thick woven cloth material, making it more durable and comfortable. The part that goes over the shoulder is also padded for extra comfort.I noticed a small sticky spot (see last picture) on the strap, probably left over from production. Scraping at it with my nail it seems to rub off easily, so this doesn't seem like an issue. Also, I noticed a very slight amount of the dye had rubbed off on the grey inner lining of the bag where the leather meets the lining, but this is to be expected from new leather products (the tag on the bag mentions this).The logo on the front of the bag was a bit too prominent for my liking, as I prefer a more understated look. Standing about 3 feet away from the mirror it wasn't very noticeable though.Overall, this is a well-made and reasonably priced bag. But for me, what really makes this bag shine in comparison to others is how it's made in an environmentally and socially responsible way. Researching on the brand's website I found out that all the leather used is from the by-products of animals bred primarily for meat. Also, the leather is tanned using Babool tree bark, a traditional method that is much healthier (for earth + humans) than conventional methods. The brand is also very transparent about labor practices and makes sure those involved in making the bags are paid fairly and working in safe conditions.All in all, a great find (:

I have had this case for at least a couple years now. I use it everyday. Not just to my office but going from place to place. In/out of cars, buildings etc. I load it who with files/laptop etc. I have gone through many briefcase over the years and this one have proven very durable with no real signs of wear and tear. I highly recommend this manufacturer. When it comes to briefcases on Amazon it is truly a roll of dice as I have ordered some that are clearly substandard in quality and materials. This one is clearly a winter.

This bag is exactly what I was hoping it would be and I have already received so many compliments on it. I bought this bag to replace one I have carried for a while. It is almost comical to see both bags side by side. This one is clearly superior quality.The leather is a little stiff right now since it is new, but I still have plenty of room for everything I need to carry. I love all the pockets and compartments! I also appreciate the cushioned strap.Overall, this is an excellent product for the price and I would recommend it.

Verpackung & Aussehen:Die Tasche kommt in einem großen Jutebeutel, der sich optimal für die Aufbewahrung eignet. Die Farbe der Tasche ist wie auf den Fotos abgebildet, man braucht also keine Angst zu haben, dass es hier eine große Diskrepanz gibt. Insgesamt ist es eine sehr schöne und hochwertig verarbeitete Tasche.Material & Verarbeitung:Das Leder der Tasche ist dick und fühlt sich sehr hochwertig an. Die Verschlüsse sind aus Metall und ebenfalls sehr stabil gearbeitet. Vorteilhaft ist auch, dass man die Verschlüsse an der Vorderseite verstellen kann, falls nötig. Das Innenleben der Tasche ist größtenteils aus wasserabweisendem Material. Insgesamt ist die Verarbeitung sehr gut gelungen. Es finden sich keine unsauber gearbeiteten Nähte oder scharfe Kanten am Metall.Stauraum:Ich habe mir die Tasche für meinen beruflichen Alltag beschafft. Ich bekomme problemlos mein 14" Notebook inkl. Netzteil, Maus, Presentern und Headset unter. Zusätzlich befinden sich immer meine Handy Kopfhörer, sowie Ladegerät und das Handy selbst und diverses Schreibmaterial in der Tasche. Selbst wenn alles untergebracht ist, habe ich noch ausreichend Platz für weitere Utensilien. Ein zweites 13" Notebook inkl. Netzteil und Maus hat ebenfalls Platz. Dann musste ich auch die äußeren Verschlüsse auf das letzte Loch legen. Trotzdem geht sie problemlos zu.Komfort:Haptisch macht die Tasche einen super Eindruck. Der Griff ist wunderbar verarbeitet und macht ein angenehmes Tragen der Tasche möglich. Sollte die Tasche sehr voll und dadurch schwer werden, wird ein Tragegurt mitgeliefert. Dieser ist ebenfalls gepolstert, sodass er beim Tragen nicht einschneidet.Fazit:Diese Tasche ist der optimale Begleiter für meinen Büro Alltag. Beim Thema Preis/Leistung muss ich sagen, dass ich nicht erwartet hätte so eine hohe Qualität zu einem so niedrigen Preis zu bekommen. Taschen dieser Qualität kosten bei anderen Herstellern schnell mal das Dreifache, wenn nicht sogar mehr.Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

Ich kann die Tasche jedem empfehlen der viel unterwegs ist und das kleine Büro immer dabei haben muss. Die Unterlagen lassen sich durch die vielen Fächer super ordnen - Ich arbeite als Restauratorin im Bereich Wandmalerei weswegen die Tasche zwischendurch auch Feuchtigkeit und Stöße oder Kratzer abbekommt. Durch das robuste Leder und das wasserdichte Innenfutter sind der Laptop und die Arbeitsmaterialien allerdings gut geschützt und bleiben unversehrt. Gerade für kleine Personen wie ich es bunt hält sich der Tragekomfort über große Strecken in Grenzen. Ich bin viel mit dem Auto oder dem Zug unterwegs deswegen ist das für mich weniger ein Problem. Sie ist relativ schmal und kippt schneller um - sie könnte deswegen etwas breiter sein. Im Großen und Ganzen freue ich mich über eine solide verarbeitete und sehr elegante Tasche die mich lang begleiten wird.

Einleitend möchte ich sagen, dass ich die Ledertasche Elmar von Gusti im Rahmen eines Produkttests bekommen und getestet habe. Aber, dass wird meine Meinung nicht beinträchtigen.Verpackung:Die Tasche kommt in einer Umhängetasche mit dem Aufdruck von Gusti Leder. Man könnte sie theo. auch für andere Dinge benutzen, ich würde sie aber zum Aufbewahren der Ledertasche nutzen. Außerdem sind alle Schnallen und der Riemen zusätzlich eingepackt (Foto).Geruch:Da es sich um echtes Leder handelt, riecht die Tasche auch nicht nach Chemie oder ähnlichem sondern nach Leder.Haptik:Sie ist von der Haptik auch gut anzufassen. Ehr seidig zart und nicht so glatt und "plastikmäßig".Farbe:die Farbe ist schön. Als ich die Tasche bestellt hatte, hätte ich gerne eine dunkelbraune Tasche bestellt - aber ich muss sagen - sie sieht in echt nicht so hell aus, wie es auf der Homepage herüber kommt. Kennt Ihr noch diese Uni/Schultaschen aus den 90ern? So hell wie diese Taschen, ist sie nicht! (Furchtbar wenn ich nur darüber nachdenke... :-) )Wichtig! zur Farbe muss noch gesagt werden: sie färbt nicht. Taschen die schwarz oder dunkelbraun sind, neigen am Anfang dazu, abzufärben. Ich habe den Test gemacht - Das Tuch blieb weiß.Warum ich mir diese Tasche kaufen würde / warum nicht:warum nicht:die Tasche alleine hat bereits fast 2 KG Eigengewicht. Wenn ich damit ständig in die Arbeit radeln oder via Öffis pendeln müsste, wäre mir diese Tasche auf Dauer zu schwer (inkl. Laptop (14"), Stromkabel, Headset etc., Arbeitsunterlagen, Stifte, Dose mit Essen, 0,5 l Flasche, Geldbeutel, Schlüssel und Handy.Mit diesem Inhalt ist die Tasche komplett voll und muss bei den Schnallen auf das erste Loch gestellt werden (was ok ist). Ein kleiner Block wäre sicher auch noch reingegangen (Foto).kaufen ja:Wenn ich damit im Auto fahren kann, ist sie super. Der Riemen hat ein Polster welches sich angenehm tragen lässt und sie rutscht nicht! Das kann man nicht von allen Riemen sagen...Ich persönlich (für meinen Einsatz) würde die Tasche ehr für ein kurzes Intermezzo, wie ein Seminar oder eine Schulung oder gar ein Vorstellungsgespräch nehmen. Dafür macht die Tasche richtig Eindruck! oder wenn ich nicht 1000 Unterlagen/Laptop mitnehmen müsste, sondern nur zu Freunden fahre, mit einer Flasche Wasser, Geldbeutel etc.Verarbeitung:Ich besitze bereits 2 Geldbeutel von Gusti (selbst gekauft, daher kenne ich Gusti) und ich muss sagen, bisher wurde ich nie enttäuscht von der Qualität. Die Verarbeitung ist super. Ich habe es noch nie erlebt, das Nähte abstehen oder ähnliches. Es ist eine Ledertasche - sie wird sicher auch schnell "Kratzer" oder ähnliches bekommen, aber das ist die natürliche Beschaffenheit einer Ledertasche. Gebrauchsspuren gehören dazu. Wenn die Tasche länger im Gebrauch war, wird sie sicher auch, wie Lederschuhe, anpassen, sich weiten etwas geschmeidiger werden usw.Der Deckel scheint "waterproof" zu sein - habe dies aber nicht ausgetestet, weil ich meine Ledertasche tatsächlich solch schlechtem Wetter, nicht mit Absicht, aussetzen würde.Fazit:Es ist eine sehr schöne Ledertasche und ich würde sie von der Qualität her aufjedenfall weiterempfehlen.Man sollte sich nur überlegen, für welchen Einsatz man sie sich zulegen möchte.Wenn ich euch mit der Rezension weiter helfen konnte, dann würde ich mich über eine „hilfreich“ Bewertung freuen.
