Women's Gothic Witch Dress Medieval Renaissance Costume Victorian Dress

This dress is actually pretty decent quality. The fabric has a beautiful color, is relatively heavy, relatively soft, comfortable enough. It will work for a variety of costumes. I thought I ordered the one without the long dangles from the sleeves, but apparently didn't, because the one I received had the long dangles on the sleeves. If I cut them off, I could probably find a way to wear this in more situations than just costuming. The skirt has plenty of fabric (which is important for me as a tall person with a large stride - not a fan of being forced to shorten my stride because of stitching), and the fit is comfortable. I thought it ran a little large and probably would have ordered a size down if I'd known. I'm right at the cusp of the measurements they showed for medium and large. I think the medium would have been more flattering, but the large is comfortable and still looks fine enough. I used it for a Merida costume.. I know it's not exactly like the dress she wore, but I don't like buying things I can only use for one purpose. This dress was close enough that people knew exactly which character I was trying for. For the quantity and weight of the material and quality of the stitching, I think the price point I paid was fair.

Terrific, well made for a costume, and fits well. The material is a grade above normal and feels like it will last for years. Looks pretty realistic.

Wore this to the ren Faire. It was very comfortable and light, great for summer heat and humidity. It fit true to size and just brushed the ground on me, I’m 5’6” - had to hitch it up going up the hills so I might have to hem it a bit before next time. I got a lot of complements. The color is more of a peacock blue than a deep green, still pretty. The quality is great, good stitching, opaque material - it is a slippery type material which I didn’t expect but it was fine. Threw it in the dryer for a few minutes to get the wrinkles out from shipping. The waste is very elastic and forgiving, lots of material for flowy-ness. Can be worn above shoulders to cover a bra. I’d love to see this dress with the drape a complementary color to break it up a bit.

This dress was so much better than I anticipated! The style was beautiful and the fabric was flowy. It’s was comfortable to wear. It did run a bit large but didn’t completely drown me. The addition of the sheer straps ensured a great fit when worn off the shoulders.

Good quality breathable and pretty. My only qualm is length. I am 5’7” and it’s still very long the bottom of the dress got very dirty due to this. I had a slightly heeled boot. Anyway- the fabric is thick and it stretches/fits to your body very well- had no issues with it being see through.

I was expecting a gauze-type fabric. This is more a dull, slick fabric. It washed well in the machine on a delicate cycle. Tumble dried it with no issues. You can wear with a hoop skirt to give more volume, but I wanted a more rustic look, so I went without. Perfect for costumes. The sleeves are 3/4 length with elastic ruffles; they have a single, long tendril of fabric sewn in, not long “bell” sleeves. You might want to add a corset to pull in the waist. I used an apothecary belt which made me look huge. lol. Overall very happy with this dress. I’m 5 feet tall, so it dragged a bit without shoes. True to size.

This is perfect!!! I weigh about 310 and purchased 2x/3x. I really was prepared for it NOT to fit. It's comfortable and roomy and fits fabulously! I absolutely love it! I'm singing Lady Macbeth in Verdi's opera, Macbeth, several times this month and my local opera group didn't have a convincing gown for the Sleepwalking scene so I got this!! It's going to be very effective in the dark carrying a candleabra!! I'm so excited! I think a tumble in the dryer will take the wrinkles out. The bag was very heavy signaling the dress is quality fabric. It is, and it is not see through. I'm so pleasantly surprised!!! It's a little long but I can hike it up from the waist hopefully. My fiance loved it on me so much, he proposed that when we get married, I wear it as my wedding gown! Uhhhh, I don't know about that, but who knows, lol?!!! Amazon asked if it had a smell. It has no smell!!! I feel it was worth it for the price. I'm excited to wear it! You can pull it up on your shoulders or wear it down like in the picture. There are tendrils coming from the sleeves which will look great carrying a candelabra!!

For reference, I am 5'10", about 210lbs, 38DDD, curvy. I typically wear L-XL in a shirt or dress, depending on how roomy it is across the chest & shoulders. I ordered this is XL burgandy. It is stretchy & very forgiving to weight fluctation as it would still fit as nicely if I went up or down a size. The burgandy is a lovely brick red, tending more towards blue undertones than orange. This dress fits well & is flattering on me. It pairs perfectly with a corset & was very comfortable. I have similar dresses in 3 colors & would order this one again in a different color if needed.
