If you simply follow the directions, then this is an excellent product! If you intentionally use too much thinking that more product has to be better, well, then you deserve what you get and very likely you'll end up killing your expensive fuel injectors or the equally expensive fuel pump as a result. Follow the directions for use exactly and measure out the correct amount of product. This is not going to repair years/decades of neglect and pre-existing internal fuel system corrosion/damage/wear issues, which should go without saying, but I've read the low-rated reviews, which are few. Got the 32oz bottle to try, as better value compared to the smaller 16oz bottle/squeeze bottle. The only downside is you really need to follow the directions for use and measure out this type of fuel additive to avoid using too much of it per tank, which is significantly more difficult with the larger bottle size. As others have noted the caps on the larger bottles don't seal very well, and product is not something you want to keep inside your vehicle (or anywhere enclosed really) unless you bag it and ensure it cannot fall over. Failure to follow the product directions (just pouring it in freely) can result in damage to the very expensive injectors and fuel pump, etc., which is also true of other branded diesel fuel additives as well. Follow the directions and you will very quickly feel the difference in throttle response compared to pump diesel. I use the top-tier diesel fuel and supplement with this product. I get much lower running noise, better fuel economy, less DPF regenerations, and significantly better throttle response. The driving 'fun factor' alone is worth the price of this product, but I actually buy it to protect my aging HPFP and original injectors in my '10 Audi Q7 TDI...those bits are kinda pricey to replace. I used Liqui Moly products prior, and those are great too, but more expensive, so now I'm on Hotshot's EDT, and my TDI loves it. :)

Good value. I have used this in trucks and tractors and other equipment. It is a higher dosage rate than the regular EDT but I feel like along with keeping diesel from gelling up it is also some insurance as far as lubricity on the injection pump and other components and hopefully will help everything last a very long time. So far I have not had any gelling issues using this. I think the main thing to keep in mind is treat your fuel and use some to get it through the filter, pump, etc before it gets cold out. Make sure to treat per gallon and also for the cold expected.

Been using this stuff in 3 different diesel trucks. I cannot tell you whether it works or not, but my trucks still run and didn't blow up. So maybe it helped? It didn't blow them up ..... so there's that. I've never torn down my engines or looked at my injectors. Maybe that because I use this?

I had never given much credence to fuel additives before trying Hot Shots. It really works. About a year ago, I started a new job with a 120 mile per-day commute. I began researching ways to improve the mpg for my Duramax 3.0 Silverado. This product kept coming up as I combed through the diesel forums. I decided I would give it a try. I purchased the 4 oz bottle which treats 4 tanks. I track my mileage on the Fuelly app and post every fill-up. With my first tank of use in mid-November 2023, I had a new best mpg. I included a graph from Fuelly showing 9 months of data. The first 4 months on the graph are pre Hot-Shots, and the last 4 are after using Hot Shots at every fill-up. The graph speaks for itself. There are a few big mpg dips on the chart. The dips are generally when I was off for a week or two for holidays/vacation. I didn’t have my long commute and drove mostly in and around town. Diesels are at their best on long drives with lots of highway time. Many reviews mention the bottle leaking (notably, the big bottles). I found an easy fix for this. The 4 oz bottle is sturdy and has a good cap. I bought one 4 ounce bottle and then later bought a 32 oz bottle. I keep the 4 ounce bottle in one of the pockets on the bed rail of my truck bed. This keeps any possible odor out of the cab. I refill it from the 32 oz bottle at home after every 4 fuel-ups. I initially thought Hot Shots might be snake oil but, it really works. I drive the same route five days a week and traffic is minimal. There aren’t many variables to the data in my chart other than when I am on vacation and drive mostly in town or when we get some crazy weather. The fuel savings far outweigh the cost of the product. A 32 oz bottle treats 32 tanks and will cost about $1 per fill-up. With Hot Shots, I am getting an extra 2 miles per gallon or an extra 40-50 miles per fill-up. Depending on what you pay for diesel, an extra 45 miles per tank could save you $4-$6 bucks. If you happen to fill up weekly like me, you should save a few hundred bucks per year. I won’t say Hot-Shots is a miracle product but, it performs as advertised. I can only speak for the results in my 3.0 liter Duramax. I get a couple more mpg’s, am saving 6-7% in fuel costs and keeping my fuel system clean. If you drive a ton like me, it’s worth the minor hassle of ordering the stuff and pouring it in at every fill-up. I recommend starting with the small bottle. Hand-calculate your mpg for 4 tanks before use and then calculate 4 tanks after use. If you don’t see an improvement, you’re only out $6 bucks.

Very pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect to notice any difference in my old IDI diesel that has more in common with an old tractor engine than modern automotive engines, but it's been quite an improvement. Engine idles more smoothly, much quieter, revs more readily, and I've had to recalibrate my right foot because less throttle is needed to get the same acceleration. So far I haven't noticed any fuel efficiency benefits, but my right foot has been enjoying how much better the engine runs. Even if I don't get any fuel efficiency benefit, for the very minimal cost of the additive I'll happily run it just for how much better the engine runs. Bought a bunch of dose size bottles here on Amazon that I transfer the fuel treatment into, easy to dump a bottle in the tank before filling with diesel.
