Fire.
I've had this lathe since February. It's now August, and I just started turning a small bowl when the wires in the control box started smoking. I'm not sure if they sell new control boards, but I won't be using this lathe until I find a replacement.

Great Lathe, expect to need accessories over and over
Im a beginner and use this for pens, handles and misc small projects. So far, I’m overly impressed with this lathe. For a speed controlled model I expected the quality to fail somewhere for the price, and prayed it wouldn’t be anything major. This far it is strong and fast enough to do small things.I’ve used this for about 3 hours now, I broke the tool rest and noticed the drive spur/“chuck” went dull on the first spin out. You get an extra tool rest with the lathe so no issues there, and I was planning to buy a few chucks and spurs anyways so again, I’m very pleased.Pending any major breaks, this is a keeper. If you do pens, add a drill chuck and you have a perfect little machine here.Motor stayed warm, all things were aligned, nothing showing early wear.Only reason I would tell someone not to buy this is if you plan to do big projects and need the power/size, or because the arbor is MT1. It’s way easier to find accessories in MT2, but I will survive!UPDATE:I’ve now turned about 8 little projects on this lathe. Broken parts: both tool rests snapped in half, tail spindle is broken as well. Motor continues to perform well. If you plan on doing any hollowing work(cups, bowls, etc), the tailstock is so close that it makes the work hard to see/do.Conclusion: this is a cool lathe, but waiting 10 days for replacement parts over and over will not work, return is likely.

Tailstock and knock out bar very poor quality
Nice little beginner lathe. If I did it over again, I would have spent more money on a larger higher quality lathe. The knockout bar stripped pretty much immediately, so I now it is difficult to change out threaded accessories. The tailstock is also very poor quality and difficult to use. The design still doesn't quite make sense to me. It is super difficult to turn if you are boring holes for pens or rings. That is my biggest complaint. Nothing like struggling with your tool to make a simple process difficult. All and all, i would recommend spending a little more money for a nicer lathe or just one with a better design on the tailstock. Also the tool rests are garbage and I can't find a replacement that is the same size...... Both of the tool rests broke. I don't know why it has a smaller mount. All the other replacement tools rest I am finding are 5/8ths. Seems odd to make a smaller size that is easier to break.

lathe worked for 3 hours
I used this lathe for a total of 3 hours and two and a half weeks, it suddenly stopped working. I sent a message to the seller with no response back on a refund, now I'm stuck with a non working lathe and the return time has ended. Do not buy this product.

It was ok until it wasn’t.
Right after 30 days the variable speed went out of the lathe and can’t get support to fix the problem.
