Excellent printer!
Excellent printer with fast, high quality output and very easy setup. Clear LCD controls and reliable performance make this a convenient and cost effective choice. Cheap but very reliable printing. Highly recommended!

Easy setup for AirPrint printing from iPhone and IPad
Having been frustrated by topping up little-used colour ink cartridges, I decided to forego a colour laser jet and opted for a mono laser printer which apparently is cheaper to run, more reliable and doesn’t suffer from clogged jets. I no longer use a PC and wanted a printer which would allow direct printing from an iPhone and an iPad, using AirPrint. The printer was - eventually, easy to set up. The setup procedure via the recommended app didn’t work for me, but in simply opting for a manual setup via the colour control screen it was very straightforward, after providing my network name and password. Printing from both the iPhone and iPad is fast and simple. Printer appears to be very well made, print quality is excellent. So far, so good, highly recommended.

Fantastic value.
I did quite a bit of research before deciding on this one. I need a printer because I’m disabled and can’t write with a pen anymore. But I don’t use them all that often, so inkjet printers are useless, as they dry up if you don’t use them constantly. Hence why I needed a laser printer. It’s a mono printer, so only prints in black and white. But that’s great for me as that’s all I need. Just to print letters off. It’s fast and it prints beautifully. Not a single error like you often get with inkjets. It also connects to the Brother Mobile connect app with iOS and android. You don’t even need a PC. You can print straight from your phone over WiFi. I have also connected it to my computer though and it works flawlessly. Another great thing about it is that the ink is great value. You can get compatibles for less than £20 for it from the brother website or via the app. It’s also cheaper on Amazon than a lot of other retailers. All in all, I’m really impressed and glad I did my research.

Good printer - bad setup
The printer itself is perfectly fine. Good print quality, fast printing, duplex printing is great, wireless is great. Speaking of wireless, here's the reason I knocked one star off. The instructions are simply terrible and don't work. I worked my way through the menus myself to get WiFi working, but I've got the advantage of being a former comms engineer. I use Linux, and there's the other problem. The instructions for installing the software are bad too. I had to web search to find out what was really needed. Also, the EcoPro free 4 months didn't happen, as the signup locked up as I was completing it and I can't get back in. Not bothered by that though, as it's cheaper to buy your own OEM toners than pay £1.99 a month. But if you can get over the jenky software setup, it's a great printer that I'd recommend for anyone needing to print documents, emails, invoices and the like.

Very good printer.
The printer is very well built, looks good...and prints clearly & quickly. For the money paid, it's a bargain. Small annoyance :- No USB lead was supplied (But everyone's probably got a spare)

Great laser mono printer for home office, small business and students
This printer is used for delivery labels, reference documents, scanning passports, visa applications, and more. The print is clear and precise, even on double-sided prints. The "scan and send to PC" function is excellent and simply implemented via clear button pushes on the front of the machine, resulting in an editable and printable file appearing on your computer screen in seconds. The machine uses buttons and not touch screens, which is a relief, as touch screens are imprecise and always lag or do funny things that you don't expect them to. Buttons simply go in and out - 'nuff said! The machine is fast and silent compared to my older inkjet, the HP Photosmart B209a, which had suffered a print-head failure outside of warranty that prompted this purchase. I do not miss having colour prints as I seldom required colour. If I ever have a specific need to print photos, I will take a USB drive to a supermarket or local stationery and print shop. The integrated wireless functions are very intuitive and useful. I set my printer's WiFi connection up by entering the router SSID and password directly into the machine, and the installed software then associated the computer to the printer over the same WiFi network that the computer is connected to. Be aware, the machine assumes this will be the primary method of connection and to that end, it does not come with a connecting USB cable. This would be needed if you were to lose connectivity and still needed to print a file out from your PC. Another boon of the printer that I haven't experienced yet is that anyone who has the Brother App on their phone can print straight to the printer over WiFi, instead of having to interrupt whatever task another person using the computer is doing. All-in-all, I am extremely impressed with this simple, fast, neat and business-like printer. I would urge you to consider spending a little more than you might want to on the printer itself, rather than saving on a cheaper inkjet that will cost you far more in the first year of use on ink cartridges (this is how printer manufacturers make the real money, not on the cheap inkjet printers themselves). I will not be going back to cheaper inkjets again. The EPSON ecotank would be the option I would go for if I was in the market for an inkjet. For my use-case, the Brother is hard to beat and I would highly recommend this printer for home office, small business and student use.

Great printer. I have a lower model, but this one scans both sides. More importantly, this printer is the last of the family that accepts the third party TN-2450 toner. As a hint, it is worth adjusting the print profiles to reduce toner consumption in any case.
