Pleased with Turtle Sandbox
We ordered the sandbox as a Christmas gift for our 3 year old and he loves it! My husband put it together inside to place under the tree. He had no problem with the assembly and it was easy to transport outside also. It isn’t real big, but we live in a rural area and the well fitting shell that covers and protects it, along with the price makes it a good choice! It holds three 5 lb bags of play sand. We haven’t had it long enough to find out if there will be a problem with water retention.

On the smaller size
Love love love! My kids would spend every waking minute in their sand box if I let them. It’s such a fun toy but I do with it were bigger. It’s perfect for one child but small for two. It’s super functional because of the lid. We can just keep our toys in it and we know they’re safe overnight. It’s pretty durable because my kids have used it for a month now and it still looks brand new.

Great Quality
This sandbox was a great buy! It was a bit difficult to put together so patience is required. I bought this last summer (2024) and the color hasn't fadded and held up to use of a toddler. The lid has stayed on even through rough windy weather. Theres a strap that hooks the lid to the turtles body.

Not Little Tykes quality- disappointed
Disappointed!!! Not sturdy like the original Little Tyke sandbox. It’s way smaller in size and thin plastic. My husband didn’t have problems putting it together. It just NOT Little Tykes quality we were expecting. It won’t hold up for a toddlers use for very long. I would return it- but it’s already put together.

A classic choice
An old standard- just wish it still came in just two pieces (lid and base). Took some time to put together but seems sturdy enough. Good size for toddler- doesn’t overwhelm backyard. Also appears to handle rain very well

Kids love it and have been playing with it for 3yrs now.
Kiddos absolutely love this sandbox. Great bang for your buck. Can fit 2 toddlers in it comfortably but a little small. We use it in our garage so we don’t have to worry about rain. The lid is screwed together so I don’t know how well that would keep water out. Sand also falls out through the bottom of the turtle where it comes together so that’s a little frustrating. My kids love it though.

It’s… fine. It works. (Sorta)
My MIL’s house has a big sand area where a pool used to be and my son really liked it, so I wanted to get one for home that hopefully was slightly less full of animal feces and rainwater. Hubs didn’t want a big nice one because “we’re not going to live here forever” and “I don’t know how to dispose of sand”—whatever. I don’t ask questions. So I got this one. It was a bit smaller than the ones from our youth and now requires assembly. A lot of people complained about this part but I did not find it difficult, just tedious. It took me maybe 45 minutes, but I was on the phone talking trash with a friend and my 2 yo kept stealing the screwdriver to “help.” That honestly was the worst part of construction: having to chase down and demand the screwdriver back from a recalcitrant youth. I’m not certain how watertight or weatherproof it will be. I might duct tape the lid closed and add some heavy-duty magnets to keep the lid on. I will update if it requires aftermarket modifications. It has zero storage capacity, unless you count popping off the head to keep your keys and cellphone in. I included a pic of my all-but-2-yo for size reference. (He’s 70th percentile for height and 50th for weight.) In the accompanying pictures, there is less than 50lbs of sand in the turtle. UPDATE: yeah… got some rain. 100% not watertight. I will be duct taping the top to see if I can remedy the situation. 2nd UPDATE: even after making accomodations, it still gets wet from rain. Furthermore, bugs have gotten in to hang out in there. That means that the only purpose the lid serves is that it keeps my son and neighborhood cats out. Le sigh.

Très beau bac a sable pour mon fils de 2 ans, ce n'est pas un très gros bac, mais c'est amplement suffisant pour ce que mon fils en fait
