Microphone In Line Preamp Gain Booster for Dynamic and Ribbon Mic

I've used a condenser microphone for years and am used to being able to talk into it from several feet away, so when I switched to a dynamic microphone, it was a huge change, I don't like having to put my mouth inches away from the microphone, so I decided to give this a try and it definitely works. Now I can sit back and talk once again. So basically this turns your dynamic microphone into a condenser mic.

Great little booster should you need one. I was using this with a shure dynamic mic and to record on tirs absolutely crucialTo have a booster. I think the name brand they copied from is called cloud something. But they nailed it at a fraction of the clouds price.It gives it a 20 bump. I wish you could dial it on the hardware but oh well, that’s what we have dials for on logic. I guess. No, I think it should be on the hardware too. Also an on/off would be nice. But it works great and without noise for dynamics in the studio.

This does everything the cloud does but at a fraction of the cost! I'm so thankful that someone put me on to this. My recording sessions have been sooo much easier, faster and better. I can get a level with ease. It's not finicky. I cant believe it exists. if you have been eyeing the cloud, THIS is your ticket!!!

I love the signal boost I get with my Scarlet 2i2. Absolutely no added noise. My SM7B sounds great now. I am equally impressed with the budget savings. I strongly recommend this for home, small studio vocalists.

One thing to remember here, it requires an audio interface that can supply 48v phantom power and it does not work with condenser mics, so if you bought this and can’t get it to work you need to check both of those things to make sure you are using it correctly. Without the 48v it simply will not work. It won’t even allow the signal to pass through. If a condenser mic is used it will not allow the 48v to pass through (because it needs it itself) so again, no signal. While using the mic booster I did not notice any quality issues with the sound, and I use it to balance the sound between a wired mic and a wireless mic. For some reason my wireless mic is much louder than the wired one. Not any more.Price:This item is listed (at the time of this review) for $39.99 sale price ($99.99 actual). The same price is very reason able when compared to other similar products, but I think the regular price is a bit on the high side.Likes:I like the compact and solid design as well as the simple nature of the device.Dislikes:Only thing I would like to see is a statement printed on the device itself saying 48v phantom power required. I guess my dislike is that it doesn’t.Overall:I would recommend this item if you are looking for a simple yet powerful signal booster for your wired mics. This item gets the job done and does it in a nice compact package. The sale price is your best bet, so grab it while it is on sale.

Provide no noticeable gain

This is a decent budget option for a cloudlifter. The noise is not too bad. Good for dynamic mics.
