Simple and functional.
This little unit is great. It was low cost and provided a simple and quick diagnosis. I was already able to diagnose a misfire, fix it, and pass smog. It's not the fanciest but it's easy to use and it gets the macro diagnosis out of the way quickly.

Saved me money from the start
Batteries not needed! After donating $🤑to a friends brake bill,I was rewarded by my check engine light turning on! I checked Amazon and got this device. It not only gave me the code number but spelled out the problem. It would have cost me about $100 just to tell me what might be wrong.I fixed the problem 😃!Most importantly I fixed my 2007 Dodge Magnum RT because the device pointed me in the right direction!

kinda mediocre but probably a value for the money
to start, this does what it is supposed to do. it will read the codes, and erase them. it has that weird chinese operating system like the fake ipods where there is 10 other functions crammed in that you have to navigate through to get to what you actually use it for, which is reading codes. the $40 code reader off the shelf from amazon gets straight to the point, and only has 4 buttons. this one has lots of buttons and navigating is not always intuitive. sometimes it implies pressing f3 to continue when that takes you back and it's actually 'ok' that continues. it has some live feed reading, it's useable, but it kinda falls in a niche between something simpler/cheaper to use and something that will also handle abs codes. primarily it's the software that needs to be streamlined and more thoughtful.

Great to have, and nicely built
I've reviewed a number of inexpensive OBD2 scanners recently, and this one has a lot to like. The unit, like most in this category, doesn't have it's own battery and runs only off the car power supplied by the OBD2 port. As someone who has had 9v batteries leak in scanners, I like this option. There is a nice color display, and the controls are both easy to read and use, but they also feel great. The menus are fairly easy to understand; I'm not a mechanic, so some of it is lost on me. The manual is sort of par for the course; it goes into basic operation, but good luck trying to figure out what some of the available data streams mean. he cord is pretty short, but for these very portable scanners that's actually fine b me. The cord does not detach, so it can't be replaced. I did not attempt to update this unit, but that can be done via a USB-c port. I was hoping this might be able to tell me why the AWD light randomly comes on in my Rav4, but I guess that isn't a stored code (and to be fair, unlike the check engine light the 'AWD' light goes out when the car has been off) It can't seem to see my car's TPMS sensors. I didn't expect it to, but it didn't. This unit is nicely sized and will fit in the glove compartment of just about any car. I think they are awesome to have for diagnosing problems that you might be able to fix yourself - and even if you can't, might at least be able to help you determine if your mechanic is being honest. Given the size, great controls, and crisp color screen I enthusiastically recommend this scanner.

My Pocket Mechanic
I love this device. I check my car before I take it to the shop or to the auto-zone depending on the code. If it's something I can do using u-tube as a guide I go for it, otherwise I take it to a mechanic.

Very useful
My check engine light came on last year and it cost me over a hundred dollars to get a shop to run the code. So when it happened again I decided to find something to check it at home. The user-friendly interface of the V519 made it incredibly easy for me to diagnose issues with my vehicle. The scanner quickly and accurately pinpointed the source of the check engine light, providing detailed information that helped me understand the problem without having to take my car to a mechanic immediately. This not only saved me time but also gave me the confidence to address minor issues on my own. The device feels sturdy and durable, and the compact design makes it convenient to carry and store. The bright and clear display ensures that reading diagnostic codes is a breeze, even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. One of the standout features of the V519 is its compatibility with a wide range of vehicles. Whether you have a domestic or import car, this scanner has you covered. It worked seamlessly with my vehicle, and I appreciated the comprehensive code library that provided detailed descriptions of potential issues.

Nice little stand alone OBD scanner
Does just about everything you need it to do without having to fiddle with connecting a smart phone. I've had several of the cheaper Bluetooth adapters cause me issues when it came to pairing them to my phone, some just quit working then randomly start working again after sitting. This tool allows me to just connect my car and power it with a simple USB c charger, it seems to be well made and it's plenty responsive to the buttons. I'd definitely recommend this if you're tired of fiddling with those Bluetooth scanners.
