Better than expected
Absolutely perfect and better than expected at a price that is far better than anything I can get locally. I picked up the 12x18 silhouette, painted it orange so I could see it down range and placed it at about 25 yards (usually not recommended by manufacturers but that's where I shoot at anyways) and hit it with some 223 from an AR-15. I usually expect some dimpling and pitting from a round that hot but to a greater extent than what happened with this target. The steel is extremely hard and of all the targets I have shot with 223/5.56 so far, this one holds up the best. It has now taken about 200 rounds from various firearms ranging from 9mm to 223, to 12g slugs and none of them have really done anything other than a slight pit that's barely noticeable and scraping the paint off. Fully worth every penny.

Get two or three it is worth it. just dont do what i did!
Let’s be honest with each other, I mean that is what we do right? it is a piece of steel that is a target. We improvised a saw horse and some chain to attach to the support. We shot it with 22lr, 9mm, 45ACP, 223/556, 30-30, 30-06, and 50 BMG. It held up great. We shot from 10-50 yards with pistols and it stopped everything with no problem. With the 223/556 and 30-30 from 100-300 yards with great results and minimal pitting. I guess the 22 was hitting… I could not hear it but my son said he could. I guess I am getting old. We used spot tracers with the 50 BMG from 100-500 yards with no penetration. There were a few dents but nothing that wasn’t expected. Spot tracers don’t penetrate car doors so… from 800-1000 yards we hit it with the 30-06 and the 50 BMG. The 50 BMG did get penetration but the 30-06 did not. That’s what happens when you use and APIT. I think that they are great and I will get more for the range. Now I just need on about 1.5 inches thick.

Best Steel for the Price; No Pitting of Steel
This is the best piece of steel you’ll find for this price. I shot several different loads at this target at 200yds. I did not test at 100yds. I saw many complaints about pitting and denting; mine held up flawlessly. I shot It with55gr Federal, 62gr Gold Dot, 68gr Frontier HPBT, 69 and 77gr Sierra MatchKing HPBT 5.56/.223 rounds.I surmise the people that are getting fouling may be using the Federal 62gr XM855 Green Tip Rounds which have steel penetrator tips. I plan to test today with that 62gr XM855 with a few rounds to see what happens at 200yds.At the very least you can have confidence at 200 yds this steel works great with awesome feedback when your not using steel tip ammo as recommended.

Great target - great price
These are nice, big, heavy silhouette targets that perform the way AR500 targets should. I’ve only had the chance so far to get some practice with .40 caliber 180 gr FMJ loads at 20 yards. Not so much as a nick in the steel. These targets will last a lifetime and give you that satisfying ‘ding’ when you score a hit.

Can’t beat the price.
These are by far the cheapest steel targets I’ve come across. The 3/8 steel targets set only cost me around $100. I shot them with around 200 rounds of .223 out of an AR at 100, 50, 25 yards and noticed some minor dimpling. I also put around 50 rounds of 9mm into them at 25 yards and noticed no plate damage at all. I don’t think these are true ar500 steel. I compared them with some of my buddies targets and they just don’t seem the same. With that said for the price they are holding up well. I need to put a few more rounds into them to see how they hold up long term. If they crap out I’ll adjust my review.

Best you can get at the price
Using the steel plates for sighting my rifles in and shooting from 100 yards and beyond. They even have a good ringing sound out around 500 yards. Use my 7mm rem mag and 308 and other caliber rifles on these and no dents or dings to be found. These are the best ar500 plates you can buy for the money. I have 2 so far and they work as I expected.

Same quality as targets that are twice the price. Great bargain buy without making any sacrifices.
Product shipped out same day and arrived two days ahead of schedule. Steel thickness was as advertised and mounting holes are large and located far enough from the edges that I'm not concerned about any damage from bullets impacting the shoulder area between the mounting hole and edge. Additionally edges are smooth and overall quality is exactly what you would expect of any AR500 target. Will be buying more in the future.

Just as good as any other $80-100 ar500 silhouette
Bought it for the price and I'm very impressed. Just as good as any other $80-100 ar500 silhouette! If you're trying to figure out how to mount it, I found making one is probably the best and cheapest route. I used three 2x4 boards, sawhorse brackets, two 3/8's bolts, 2 springs and a bunch of washers (to angle the target downwards). Seems to hold up well. I did end of putting side braces on the bottoms of each leg to prevent tipping.
