I had high hopes for Goon Grease after reading the reviews of it over the years .I've got thick ,medium length hair ,I've used all kinds of oil pomades over the years ,mainly to control my hair in a side part ,like a bit of shine but not too much .Used Goon Grease for the past few weeks and it leaves my hair looking like Cameron Diaz's characters in that scene from There's Something About Mary ....

Great pomade if you know what you are getting into with an oil based. Shine and hold are perfect. Not that it’s a huge deal, but I wish they used the old black tins that they used to put the pomade in. A bit wider but not as tall, kind of had a more “classic” pomade vibe.

Doesn’t smear very easy in your hand but it’s wax. Warm water makes it easier, but then goes back when it hits your hair. It’s alright. Smells decent.

My husband has been excited to try this & was immediately let down. It was incredibly difficult to get out of the jar, almost impossible to apply, & the hold was subpar at best. It definitely didn’t live up to the hype surrounding it but whatever, the real issue is the fact that we cannot get it out of his hair. We’ve tried two different clarifying shampoos & head & shoulders, nothing is getting it out. He can literally still style it with the amount of residue this product has left. It’s disgustingly waxy. I don’t know who would want this product or find it useful, but it cannot be good for your hair long term unless you’re using a degreaser to get it out. As someone who is a very educated on hair products / hair health, this stuff is concerning. I would not recommend it at all, to ANYONE. Even if it works well for you, the amount of residue/ buildup it leaves WILL ruin your hair eventually.

Great Hold! But zero shine, at least on my hair. Nowhere near Royal Crown, Groom & Clean, Vitalis, or Brylcreem.

I know this is personal but I really don't like the smell. I think the product will do what it advertised but smell is a big thing for me.
