Q: Has anyone used this to cut aluminum? Thickest I would use it for would be 1/2”.

I believe you want a negative hook angle for cuts in hard materials like aluminum. If you draw an imaginary radius line from the center of the blade through the front of a tooth, the top of the face of the tooth is behind that line while the bottom of the tooth face s even with that line. This is supposed to help prevent climb cuts and give a smoother, more accurate finish. These are not the right blades for 1/2” aluminum.
