Well made ice cream scoop
I have been slowly upgrading my kitchen utensils as my cheap plastic ones (OXO, usually) have been breaking for years and falling apart. I have been replacing most utensils with stainless steel for their longevity amd this scoop does not disappoint. It's sturdy, a great size for ice cream and very easy to use. My kids use it all the time to scoop their own ice cream.Worth the price.

A very finely made Rosle ice cream scoop.
Stoutly made. Familiar Rosle handle, short 5/16th" thick rod from handle to scoop, and expertly crafted scoop proper are all robust. The all important juncture of the 5/16th" rod to the scoop is both brazed and welded. The welds are in the right place for strength to scoop either right or left handed and the brazing completes the seamless melding of the rod to the scoop. There is a high polish on everything excepting the brushed tubular handle. This is not a 'bells and whistles' kitchen tool, but rather a very well made utilitarian scoop. The balance is exceptional and the distance between the handle and the scoop is short enough to inspire confidence to torque away all day. No, I haven't used it this way but I have scooped some very hard ice cream. This is the scoop I reach for first. I enjoy using it.

really nice product, works well
Expensive yes, but seems very high quality and works wellIn general, I prefer to buy things once. This appears to be one of those things that should last for 20-30 years. Before, we had this big paddle looking thing from Kitchen Aid I think, but it was kind of awkward to use especially on small containers. There might have been a good way to use it to kind of scrape the ice cream into curls or something, but never figured it out. This Rosle thing has a good edge and digs into the ice cream and if you are careful produces nice shapes.

nice clean scoops
Have not used a ton yet, but the scoops have been clean and nice. Easy to get off the scoop. Easy to clean. Quicker to get the ice cream out of the container and into my stomach than my old one.

Sturdy design
Works like a charm. Easily removes frozen custard from the container. I never have to struggle with this scoop

Love this ATK recommended ice cream scoop!
I bought this ice cream scoop based on the recommendation from America’s Test Kitchen and I love it! I love it so much that I bought a second one! From a mom of 7 :)

Hard to beat Rösle quality
Weighted nicely, smooth finish and bowl is thin but sturdy for scooping ice cream. Dishwasher safe.

Great for softer ice cream and squash seeds.
I have had this ice cream scoop for years. It's solid and well made, and it scoops nicely. It also works well for scooping seeds out of squash, which is a more common use. It's very durable. The downsides are like all things Rosle, it has a cylindrical stem, so it's a little uncomfortable and slippery for hard ice cream. Likewise, the scoop can have trouble releasing hard ice cream. This is not useful for cookie dough or meatballs, the dough just tends to stick in the scoop. If you scoop a ton of icecream, you would probably be happier with a more conventional scoop like what you see at ice cream parlors.
