Love these templates!
Gave only 4 stars because there are no pictures or instructions. I had to print the pictures from the listing to store with the templates so I would know what the finished product would look like.

Great Free Motion Quilt Rulers
The media could not be loaded. I've used several Kapyoo templates in the past and these are a great addition to my collection. This set includes three different swirl designs, all of which look great when sewn. I noticed that one had to be flipped in order to make the complete design. There are instructions on the Kapyoo store showing how to make each design and when things need to be flipped or rotated. I do wish they had included these instructions with the rulers, but they were easy enough to print and store with the rulers for future reference. I started with a basic white fabric scrap to get an idea of the overall design each ruler would create. I included a picture of each finished product as well as a brief video showing how I used one of the rulers. Prior to using each ruler I added several non-slip grip dots that are included in the pack. This insured the ruler did not slide out of place while I was sewing.I found it most helpful to use a ruler foot on my machine when sewing with these templates. The ruler foot is much thicker than a standard free-motion quilting foot, enabling it to glide along the grooves in the template. I was concerned that a standard free-motion foot would slide under the ruler rather than staying within the groove. I attached a picture showing the difference between the two feet. The one on the right is a ruler foot and the one on the left is a free-motion foot. You can see how much thicker the ruler foot is. For me, this worked very well.

Requires a special ruler free motion presser foot
The listing doesn't tell you that a Ruler Free-motion presser foot is required to use the templates. And there are no lines on the templates to help you line up your stitches as you move it around the quilt. I broke a couple of needles trying to get the hang of using it. I gave up after the 3rd broken needle because it's just easier to do the quilting free hand at this point.

Handy guidance for simple quilting motifs.
The Kapyoo 3Pcs Free Motion Quilting Rulers and Templates set for me has been a nice assist to free motion quilting on my domestic sewing machine. I did not find any advantage to using it on a high speed mid or longarm quilting machine. The ‘exit’ slot on the template is designed to allow the needle and thread to pass from one end of the design, NOT the sewing machine foot. I found that to be awkward. It takes a while to get the hang of being confined to a template. It is critical to have the correct presser foot. I found in the end that using each as a ‘stand alone motif’ worked better than trying to connect the design repeatedly.Although there are no instructions included with the template, the description and methods of use in the product listing are very helpful. If you are ‘gifting’ these do be sure to include a link for that page.

doesn’t work well
the grove that the ruler foot goes in is bigger than the ruler foot so you have to make sure you stay to one side, and figure out how to transition from one coil to the next. when you have to back track you get a second line is stitches if you don’t take care to match position! not what free motion quilting should look like! looks messy with double stitch lines!
