I ordered two Victorinox kitchen knives a week ago. This one, the paring knife sent via USPS, arrived today. The other, an 8" chef's knife, was picked up by UPS on the 7th.... and then promptly vanished into UPSville. I suspect I'll be asking Amazon to refund/replace it in a few days. To the topic... this paring knife. Amazon wasted no packaging here. It was wrapped in a piece of bubble wrap and shoved into an envelope. 'Blade Safety' consisted of a piece of thick tape on the blade. Given the sharpness of the knife, I'm surprised gravity alone didn't drop it from the package to the USPS truck floor. The knife itself? EXACTLY what I wanted in a paring knife. Light, handy. maneuverable, and sharp beyond expectations. It's almost frighteningly sharp. I ordered this one in its serrated form as a compliment to our plain paring knife. Sometimes the bumpy edge is what you need, you know? I find myself grabbing our serrated bread knife almost as much as the chef's knife.... which may be why a new chef's knife was ordered. So far it's seen only one task. Cleaning up some garlic for a roast, which is a minimal little job. That said, the knife cut the base of each clove using little more than the weight of the knife itself. I'll update the review after a few weeks of daily use, but so far we LIKE it!

My other paring knife was given to me by my mom who gave up cooking at 93! So that knife was a good one but it’s been used so much it’s lost its edge. My brothers and I ate a lot and that little knife was always in my mom’s hand. This one is just fantastic. I like the fact it’s serrated. It’s precisely made for making small cuts quickly. I also ordered the non serrated. Here’s to slicing &dicing!
