This was bought as a replacement to my old anglepoise, which was about to give up the ghost due to the plastic pivots cracking with age. Don't get me wrong - this light is VERY expensive, but it is also equally awesome. It clamps onto almost any desk with over 70mm usable jaws, and the base is compact, so won't take up much space. The tensioned hangs down a little more than the thickness of your desk, so keep that in mind.With the base attached firmly to the desk the lamp just drops into it and gravity holds it down. Power is provided from a white PSU that attaches directly to the socket and hangs down approx. 70mm including the tough flex protector, and there is plenty of cable to plug into the inline socket that hangs from the bottom of the lamp. Each section of the angle-poise arm is around 47cm centre to centre and allows a maximum vertical position of 96cm with both arms almost straight. The first pivot-point is centred at 56cm above the desk including the base, leaving 54cm between the desk and second arm if you post it perpendicular to the vertical first arm and parallel with the desk.The light head is 65cm long but only a maximum of 9cm wide, or 15cm front to back including the pivot and the arm. The many LEDs are hidden behind a translucent panel to diffuse the light a little, and in operation you have three intensities and off, which is operated by a touch-switch on the top, which is in a slight recess to help you find it and avoid pressing it by accident.Now for the best aspect of the light. If you set the head parallel to the desk and you raise it like I do to stand up without banging your head, the lamp stays perfectly parallel to the desk and keeps the same angle when you bring it back down again. My little brain was blown away by that one, and I still haven't got over it :)In conclusion, if task lighting is important to you, you need to see everything you are doing, and you need to see it in daylight conditions for colour fidelity, then this lamp should definitely be the front-runner in any shortlist. It is well-made, large enough to use in any situation, gives excellent light, feels robust, and is put together with strong allen bolts that should allow maintenance by a competent person when one of the many LEDs finally gives up the ghost 20,000-40,000 hours later. I fully expect it to outlive me however and couldn't be happier with my purchase unless it had been mispriced at a fiver :D

Light is fabulous three brightness perfect for Embroidery. I love it very smart light don’t get hot, the ideal light on all day perfect. Delivery on time. Packing wow very spacious but tidy. I would definitely get another light. I highly suggest this light for close up work. My husband does model planes he loves the light too. Thumbs up for me.

Wish I had bought this years ago, used for craft and detail art work this has changed what I can do dramatically. Its size allows me to position it at the end of my bench and work in stunning light anywhere. If I need to I can pull it closer to the work but you rarely need to it’s made such a difference. I also use it to illuminate my easel from a distance on dull days it just like daylight! It’s a bit expensive but it’s worth it.

I bought this lamp for crafting, and I'm very happy with the purchase all round. My delivery was very quick, but I would have liked to have a little more protective packaging especially as this lamp is not cheap (wrapped in thin corrugated cardboard). Luckily it was not damaged. The lamp itself was very easy to assemble. I can not fault anything with this lamp. Perfect for my crafting projects, where I need to be able to see the colours of card and paper clearly - no yellow light. 3 light settings to suit - Daylight brightness without glare. A flexible arm, long enough to reach right across my office desk. Swivel head. Loads of Pros with this lamp, the only disadvantage is the cost, it is pricey! However, it should last me out - well put together.

The long adjustable arm is spot on for getting the lighting just right. The lamp is smart, easy to use, and gives a bright and even illumination.

Great for illuminating the page when painting but it is a very bright white light even on the dimmest setting. It’s really good for showing true colours also when painting miniatures. Would recommend for any artist or hobbyist who needs a light that resembles the brightest part of the day
