Works well

Bit disappointed in quality, however you get what you pay for & it works well giving brilliant light over good area.! No complaits with performance.

I purchased one of these to replace my old 10 year old floodlight that had packed in. 10 years or so I thought to myself, not too bad. Item came. prompt service. I ordered it late November and with the Xmas period coming up I never got to fitting it. First week in Jan, I decided to remove the old unit and put this one in its place. An hour later, viola, done and dusted. It was about 3pm at this stage and I tried to set the light sensitivity, but no matter which setting I selected, it always came on independant of light once triggered. Next I decided to set the time duration, this was almost as bad, all I could manage was 40 seconds or 20 minutes. I decided to select the former and thought well at least it comes on and satisfies the need, in a round about way. 4 hours later on a journey outside the light triggered, excellent I thought and then the bulb blew. Slightly frustrated after having gone thru the motions of getting the unit installed, I started to think did I somehow touch the bulb, getting skin oil onto it and shortening its life. Next day a trip to the local hardware store, purchased 3 replacement bulbs (half the price of the unit) and was determined to get it functioning again. That day was mizzly rain and I didn't want to get the inside of the unit wet so I waited until the next day when the weather was more obliging. I replaced the fused bulb only for the replacement to blow instantly, then I decided to replace the 2nd fused bulb and this again had the same outcome. Enough was enough, no more throwing bulbs at it, just get it down and return it. So I filed the claim and was promptly awarded a returns slip, which asked myself to pay the postage. I was disappointed at this as the unit was completely not fit for purpose. I am going to pay the return postage, I feel that you need to make a statement to the supplier and to Amazon that this is rubbish and as its an electrical device, Amazon should be more careful in letting these be sold. Last word is in the title. Buy cheap you get cheap, awful product, avoid at all costs, regardless of it appearing to be a good deal, don't.

Easy to fit works fine.

Description says it includes a bulb, it does not. Box even states on the side that one isn’t included so the listing is in correct. Have installed to replace an old halogen floodlight but now having to spend an extra £7 to get some new bulbs before I can test it properly. Also instructions say it takes a 118mm bulb but that is also incorrect and the whole unit size is less than 118mm! So overall not very impressed with the product so far but will update the review if it at least works. If not then the hassle of having to take it down and un-wire will be fun as the wires are very fiddly and not much working area…also one day after purchasing it was on sale by 11%…typical! EDIT; the light does indeed work now I have bulbs at an additional cost. These were 8x78mm R7S incase anyone was wondering which it takes as the instructions are incorrectly stating a 118mm bulb.

Nice and bright and a good replacement for non working lights

We purchased this electrical item several months ago. Unfortunately, there’s a serious safety concern as the front glass has shattered, The bulb has also blown and the glass has fallen all over the ground below where our children and pets play. I reached out to the seller thinking I had a one-year warranty due to it being electrical. To which the seller told me to return the faulty item at my expense, which is no good to anybody. I would not recommend this cheap light and it’s poor quality. AVOID!!
