My cat Jasper plays in the bathtub and lets the water drip on his head. I don't want him to drink that water so I purchased the stainless steel fountain that goes with these filters. He loves the drinking fountain. The filtered water is good for him and less of a hassle than the Brita pitcher we were sharing. The stainless steel keeps the water ice cold. It's a win win for both of us.
