Accurate After Necessary Calibration
This thermocouple works great. This is assuming you perform the mandatory calibration in ice water. Mine was off 6 degrees before calibrating. I also compared the low end temperatures to two high end food thermometers for both freezing and boiling water. After calibrating at a single point the unit was accurate to within +-1degree.

These are way bigger than you think.
Holy Macaroni. So, I thought that these would be fairly small. NO. They are not which likely will make them far more durable and have longer life. The picture, is not to be taken at face value or indicate size. These things are 9“ over all with the sensor being about 8“ and 3/8 to 1/2“ in diameter. There are two screw holes to affix the sensor to your kiln. Going to say for the money these are truly impressive. I am not sure what the durability or the quality is like as I will probably have to update this later but it has the right connections to the thermocouple and that is what is most important. Very pleased with the product thus far.

Failed on install
Made it to 550F before failing, now showing .1mv with kiln at around 800F

Supports high heats well except for some pieces being too near
This really did seem to work pretty well. I could verify the temperature past about 1500°F, but it below that it seemed accurate. Be careful which parts you introduce to the high heats because there's some plastic and other parts that will fall apart (not surprising) - it may be a challenge if you've got your own setup going though.

Great thermocouple
I really like this thermocouple. So far it seems far superior to the “other kind” I had before, with super thin wires inside a steel tube. That one deteriorated and crumbled after a few months of use. This one is much more robust. I appreciate the thick wires that make up the sensor. it doesn’t respond to temperature change quite as quickly as the thin wires type, which I feel is a plus, it seems to keep the temperature inside stay more consistent with a smoother cycling of the elements.

Base not durable.
Firing a small kiln to 1600 F, the base cracked and broke in half on the second use. Probe length is generous, but not of much use with a broken base. Was able to use the probe on a different base.

Works Beautifully
I bought this K thermocouple to replace a badly worn one that came with a Skutt Digital Kiln Thermometer. It cost a third of what Skutt was asking and it paired perfectly with the digital Thermometer. Very pleased with the purchase.
