German MRE Chocolate PERFECTION
AMAZING Chocolate. I have had ALOT of chocolates in my life but this one has to be one of the very best and most refined. You can tell it is made in small batches, not to mention a tried and tested recipe from nearly a century ago. It comes in a very nice Tin, with 2 layers of Wedges cut into 8, for 16 Wedges total. You can see in my pictures the exact layout. The taste of this chocolate is out of this world. You can taste the Cola Nut in it almost immediately, and it just becomes more savory as you hold it in your mouth. I recommend eating it that way and not chewing it up. You also feel a bit of a zip from the Caffeine in it, but also a nice boost of a kinda Morale feeling. That all being said, I think I know why that is: This Chocolate seems to have been made originally as a Shelf Stable “Pick-Me-Up” for German Soldiers in their MREs. That is actually where I had originally learned of this Chocolate. Given that I had seen a “Bar” version of this Chocolate that had come in a 1960s German MRE, that had almost no significant “blooming”, as well as the reviewer of the Chocolate describing it as tasting better than any Chocolate being made today, I would say that this is a MUST TRY Chocolate for anyone, Especially a Chocolate lover. 5 Stars? I’m going to say 11 Stars.

Let it melt slowly in your mouth! Delicious!
I first tasted Scho-Ka-Kola in the late 1990s. A friend would often fly to Germany and bring it back for us. Later, I found it at World Market. Now I can easily order it on Amazon! It's soooo good. Best way to eat it: place a piece on the roof of your mouth and let it slowly melt away. Serious energy boost with a deep delicious flavor.

Kept me awake for awhile
These are great for when you don't want to drink coffee or energy drinks to stay awake especially if you like chocolate. Definitely would recommend these.

Bought this for my kid and he loves it
I realize that this snack is a little pricey, but it was a fun gift to buy for my kid, who has been studying military history, and discovered that this product was used as far back as 1936. The chocolate itself is pretty good, and I would definitely recommend it if you are taking a road trip or are hiking, and want to carry around something sweet that won't melt and get all over your other gear. I plan on using the tins to make char-cloth, but I am sure that there are a million other uses for the tins that you could come up with once you have eaten all of the chocolate inside.

Good taste
I wasn't sure at first how it would taste or how the caffeine would affect me, But it tastes really good (almost addicting). I don't really feel the caffeine, but I do drink a lot of black coffee so. Also an amazing job by the seller, they added a cold pack and shipped it in an insolated bag so no worry about buying it in the summer, definitely worth it. Would buy again, hope to buy the milk chocolate version from this seller.

WWII Reenactor Approved
Firstly this is just a great product. Secondly, the packaging is almost identical to the 1940's packaging except the plastic seal which is revivable and the nutrition chart on the back. These were issued to the German military and still are a popular purchased item in the Bund. Like others have said, do not purchase in the hotter months, the melting point is higher than standard chocolate but not by much.

Was shocked to find that it had been melted.
I had it a few years ago when it arrived in good condition, and I liked it. This time, it arrived completely melted inside, and I know it was new because it was sealed. Not even the cooling gel pack prevented it from liquifying. How did it arrive like that? Climate change heatwaves?

Melted
Flavor was good and the caffeine did it’s job. However, I definitely picked the wrong time of the year to order it. It melted and hard to get out of the can. Interesting find though!!

Arrived in Singapore and melted due to high heat. I would advise ensuring that your shipping handler takes care it. Melts too easily, in my opinion - plenty of other chocolate which are far more temperature stable.
