it helps with the sound. I put this on my appartment door and it helps make the sound a little more quiet.

Helped cut down annoying fan noise from some servers in a spare bedroom
Easy to apply, easy to cut to shape if you need to make it conform to a particular part (in my case, a door knob), especially if you're fine with just cutting along the lines of the bricks instead of cutting something to perfectly fit. The backing was easy to peel for each panel. They're stuck to a cheap wooden door and doing just fine there. Did a great job cutting down the fan noise of a bunch of computer servers I keep in a spare bedroom, especially the particularly obnoxious 40mm 15k RPM screaming, high-pitched fans.
