I ordered Sue’s book after stumbling on her Facebook page shortly after I was diagnosed with cirrhosis. My cirrhosis is due to NAFLD, I don’t drink alcohol but my diet was full of sweets and junk food and I did not exercise. I was not extremely obese but was at an unhealthy weight. I had become aware that my healing was up to me (and God!), it was time to take steps to get healthy. I was a little shocked by my diagnosis as my liver enzymes were normal for the first time in many years. But my platelets were dropping which I did not know was a telltale sign of cirrhosis for anyone with a history of NAFLD. My dad died from ESLD so I knew what complications of this disease could lead to and I don’t want to go there! Sue’s book offered hope that I could take steps to turn this disease around. She explains what test results mean in layman’s terms and gives insight on what to expect from your physician. She offers suggestions on diet modifications and tells what worked for her. It’s an easy read where Sue tells the story of her journey with honesty and emotion as she did what many doctors say is impossible and reversed her cirrhosis! It is truly written from her heart with a desire to help others achieve the same. I just had my first 6 month follow up with my liver specialist where my Fibroscan CAP score dropped from 269 to 100 and my kPa dropped from 20.8 to 12.8. I have lost 59 pounds and am now at a healthy weight. I’m exercising every day. I honestly believe I would not have made the necessary life style changes to be able to accomplished this if I had not read “Reversing Cirrhosis” by Susan Pryde. I highly recommend reading this book to anyone with cirrhosis. Review: A book filled with Hope and Motivation - I highly recommend this book by Sue Pryde. A truly inspiring account of Sue’s journey to heal her liver. It provides knowledge on questions to ask the doctor, information on test results and examples of a healthy diet. The hope and motivation I received from this book was extraordinary. A must read for caregivers and anyone looking to improve their liver health.

Cirrhosis Diagnosis
Has this diagnosis left you feeling scared and confused, or are you simply feeling numb like I was a few months ago? Do you feel alone and unsure of where to turn? Should you keep it a secret? Should you tell your whole family or just a few? What about friends and co-workers? Are you wondering about medicine, diet, exercise? If all these thoughts are flooding your mind, you need this book! Sue Pryde had many of these same thoughts and feelings. Take a trip with her and learn a little bit about her life leading up to her diagnosis and find out what she chose to do with that information. It's a beautiful story about how she came to terms with her diagnosis, educated herself about the disease, and ultimately clawed her way back to good health. Keep in mind that this is her story, and she has simply chosen to share it with us. Her story gives me hope. I know that I may not have the same outcome, but knowing that she was able to reverse her cirrhosis at least lets me know that it is possible. Don't forget to check out the conclusion of the book where Sue has listed some ways in which to contact her. I am a member of her private support group, and this is an excellent way to keep up with people who are in the same boat and looking for ways to improve their health. We have many great discussions about a variety of topics in dealing with this disease. All of us are in different stages of liver disease and dealing with different symptoms with some being mild and some being more serious. No matter where we are in this illness, we all agree that this group is helping us live our best lives while trying to navigate our paths to better health. Come join us!

Helped in understanding Cirrhosis/Nash and Sue’s journey back to health
I couldn’t stop reading as I learned more about both the disease and my friends journey. This is a story about hope, inspiration, and slaying those dragons we all face that keep us from being our best. Sue shares the technical aspect about this disease in a way that helps me understand even more, and her journey pulls me in for the ride. I read this book to help me better understand this disease, inspire me to understand and slay my own dragons, and to experience Sue’s Journey through her own heart. Sue bears all and It is clearer to me now that we all have dragons that keep us from being our best. Sue you have always been fun, creative, caring, and inspiring to me since the day we met. Love you My Friend and than you For inspiring us all, giving us hope and creating avenues for you to help others.

This was an amazing read! A prime example of how what we eat damages or repairs our bodies! Scars caused by liver cirrhosis can not be reversed, but the un-scarred damaged parts of our liver can be healed, we can increase our life expectancy of Liver Cirrhosis.

A very informative easy to read and follow personally written book. No more mad Dr Google searches leaving the thought that a diagnosis was a death sentence. Based on a REAL lovely lady who defied all odds to turn her life around. The book itself gives those of us with cirrhosis the ability to make lifestyle changes to enhance and further our longtivity. There's not once she says it'll guarantee a cure instead, offering insight how we can slow or halt the disease. However, in saying that she has reversed her cirrhosis without the need of a transplant. The book also discusses her own point of view of how she got to cirrhosis to start with. Including weight loss and management. As well as what to ask and expect out of your medical team. I highly recommend Reversing Cirrhosis as a first point of call before doing any Google searching. And this is coming from a cirrhosis survivor myself being alcohol related. I too have m Ade the necessary changes after following this book. ❤️

This book is about one woman's journey with Liver Disease. Do I think she had Cirrhosis and cured it? No. It is a story about how a woman on the precipice of cirrhosis who actually had fatty liver, reversed it and is now living her best life. It is very personal story, does not offer much in the way of medically backed information on how you can "reverse cirrhosis". Does not cover important considerations like, "What if you are a vegetarian, eating organically, portion control, money poor, raising a family (not everyone can afford the healthy types of food you suggest), etc... Cirrhosis is scarring of the liver. Look at a scar on your body, you probably can remember the day you got it. Did it every go away? No. Same with Cirrhosis, the scarring never goes away. At best you can slow it down, but it can't be reversed. While full of good suggestions and there are many, do not look towards this book as a miracle cure for Cirrhosis of the Liver. "Reversing Cirrhosis" take it off the book cover, all you are offering is false hope. This book would have been a whole lot more informative if she had taken the time to interview other patients in her "groups", wrote about their experiences, what works for them, everyone is different. Please don't think you will find a miracle cure in this book. Your money would be better spent elsewhere.
