We just moved from a beach climate to the high desert. The first few nights were miserably stuffy, even with good central air conditioning, due to the extremely low humidity. A humidifier was just the thing we needed to help us get better sleep and stop our sinuses from drying out!This unit is designed with the atomizer in the base. The reservoir is completely removable for easy filling. You don’t have to unplug the unit from the wall outlet, just lift the reservoir off the base, remove the top cover and fill the water tank in the sink. Alternatively, you can bring the water to the unit and fill it that way.The has a large capacity [5.0L (1.32 G) of water] for long runs. The mist density setting is controlled with one knob, which also serves as the on/off switch. Rotating the know clockwise sets the highest mist density. Depending on the mist setting selected (the higher the setting, the shorter the run), the unit will humidify the room for up to 40 hours! We’ve been running it in a large room on the highest setting and are getting about 10-15 hours runtime before the reservoir runs dry and engages the auto shutoff protection.The unit also has a calming, 7-color light, which illuminates the clear water tank. You can see the remaining water level at any time. This unit is helping us get better sleep since we got it and we’re very pleased with this purchase. If you need a humidifier for a medium to large size room (up to 450 ft²), get this one!

DON"T BUY THIA! I bought this humidifier for the simplicity and size. It lasted less than one month and as other reviews have noted----IT LEAKS! It did not do this until about 2 and a half weeks of use. It literally stops pushing moisture out and leaks out the bottom. This is not due to incorrect use. No water ever entered the air chamber. I would appreciate a refund but I bet that's not happening. Total POS!!!

I've always had 2 humidifiers in my home: one for me & one for my cats. I have seasonal allergies & every once in a while, one of my cats will get a respiratory infection. However, this past week, when I needed my humidifiers the most, both broke down on me. This prompted me to order another one, but I couldn't get that one to work either. So, this Acare Humidifier is my third one this week & the first to actually work!It's smaller than I prefer at only 5L, when my others were 7L, but I like that I can refill directly from the top & it has cute light effects. I do wish that it came with a remote control to control both the humidifier speed/strength & the lights. Right now, you can only turn the lights on/off & it will cycle through the colors, but not allow you to stay on one particular color. However, considering how many humidifiers I had to go through this week to get to one that actually works, this is perfect!

Worked great for a few weeks but woke up one morning to a lake on my bedroom floor. It has started leaking and I am unable to find where the leak is coming from. *** I am unable to get any customer service from the seller, from Amazon, or from Asurion so BUYER BEWARE.

This Acare humidifier is one of the quietest I've encountered, which makes it great for the bedroom. (I've had others that audibly go "glug" which isn't conducive to restful sleep!) It is very simple to operate -- one knob to turn it on/off, and the same knob to regulate the level of output. I kinda wish it did have a timer on it so you could set it and forget it, but alas, I do have to manually turn it off in the AM when I wake up. This machine does not have the extra bells + whistles that you now see on many machines -- timers (as previously mentioned), backlights, changing color backlights, remote controls, etc. It's a great basic humidifier, and I particularly appreciate how quiet it operates.

Even though I ordered this for my soon to arrive grandson, I wanted to try it out. I get nosebleeds at night due to the dryness in the room. My room is large and this humidifier did wonders. I did not feel dry at all when I awoke. You can even put a few drops of an essential oil in there and your room will smell wonderful. It works for a little less than two straight days...40 hours! The price is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this product.

After 1 month, started leaking from a hole that was created by the manufacture. Called for a refund or exchange, Amazon was not of any help because their return window closed one day before it stopped working. Customer service is a joke and a waste of time. Do not buy.

Very pleased with this humidifier. It is perfect for my bedroom. I like the look of it it is very simplistic and yet elegant as far as humidifiers go. I love that it has a large water reservoir so you don't have to refill it quite so often. Works well very pleased.
